Thank you for your review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay and we always hope visitors will return, having had a good experience.
What a shame you did not relate your complaints to us at the time of staying? It always seems most unfair not to let us have the opportunity to put things right when guests are unhappy - but then once they have left, post a review revealing complaints. We consider ourselves professional and very approachable so customer service is of paramount importance to us. The facilities are detailed accurately on the website and a slim bath is described. The Bunny Warren Suite where you stayed, named after the legendary Captain and Mrs Bunny who owned the hotel during the war and who lived in that suite, is traditional and offers original features - so cheap or fake are definitely not adjectives to describe this bedroom which offers beams and charm. Considering there is a reasonable sized lounge which accommodates two double sofas, a coffee table and a flat screen TV, with a bathroom and separate bedroom but yet you felt there was not enough room for 4, it might have been a better option for you to pay for a neighbouring but separate bedroom for your children? We are glad you enjoyed the food and general ambience of the hotel.
Thanks for your review and also braving the elements to come and visit! The area is at its most beautiful in extreme weathers - be that sunshine or snow - so you saw it at its best and obviously are adventurous guests. We are really pleased you appreciated the qualities we pride ourselves on and hope you will return in warmer weather maybe?
We are sorry you did not appreciate your stay at The West Arms. We are not affiliated with Groupon at all so unfortunately your information is incorrect. The mash which you refer to as "you don't know what was in it" - was actually Duchess Potato which is mash potato, piped onto a tray in a pyramid style, baked in the oven, a simple classic - but perhaps you have not tried this before? We did acknowledge you were having a problem with the Steak at the time of dining and so the waitress offered you a free drink as a gesture of goodwill which you accepted. As we receive very few complaints we were hoping to discuss this with you the next morning before your departure, but you left without paying, so this was not possible. Fortunately we were able to get hold of you on the telephone when you gave your credit card number to cover the "baguette" and the couple of drinks you had, at which point you did not mention anything at all about the complaint. However The Hand will be very happy with your review, considering you never even slept or ate there? Never mind, it is impossible to "win 'em all".....
