I am sorry to read that you were not happy with the location. The hotel is indeed not located right in the heart of the historical centre, however, this is regarded as part of the center, when calculated with the whole of Amsterdam city and the ease of transport to all touristic attractions.
My sincere apologies with regards the inconvenience experienced in the bar. There is indeed a dress code, although not a completely formal, but guests need to be not jogging pants and the likes. I am once again sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

I completely agree with you that the public transport is a great and easy way to get around in Amsterdam.
Did you also try using the bikes, to explore like a local? This is something you should definitely try on your next visit.
I see that you used a taxi to get to and from the airport.
Did any of my colleagues mention to you about the shuttle service we offer to and from the airport? this is complimentary from the airport to the hotel and 7.50 euros per person for the way back.
