We are clearly very sorry to read your negative review especially because, from your words, the major problem during your stay with us appears to have been the dimension of the room.
We are surprised in the first place because no complaint was made during your stay: had you told us we would have done our best to find a solution that would suit you. We do not see why you have not checked with our staff if any other room was available: we are always willing to satisfy our clients request if we can.
On the other side we are also surprised because being (from what you say) a long-term traveler, at the time of booking you had for sure checked all information about our Hotel, including the pictures available on internet, which show quite precisely the characteristics of the rooms.
We always remind our guests that the Hotel is located in an old original Venetian building so spaces reflect its age. We have some bigger rooms, like Junior Suites or family rooms, showed on our website too, so clients who are looking for more space should choose among them.
About the breakfast, we believe your judgement is too severe since our guests are normally very happy with it and, again, no complaint nor special request was made when you were here.
About the number of other people in the Hotel, well yes we have many guests (and we are happy to have them!) and September is very high season in Venice. But there are always tables available and the buffet is replenished continuously so even when the Hotel is fully booked our guests can enjoy their breakfast time. And we are a small Hotel, so the number of our guests will never be excessive.
If you do not like high season numbers, we really suggest coming in November or early December when the city (and the Hotel) is far quieter. We hope you will be willing to give us a new opportunity to welcome you and prove your judgement wrong.
