This is a very significant Revolutionary War site.
The setting up of crucial artillery redoubts at Dorchester Heights led to the British military evacuation of Boston in 1776.
The view from the Heights is beautiful on a pretty day. You can see how this site gave the rebels the ability to threaten the British fleet in Boston.
Walking from our accommodation every morning to down town South Boston, we passed through the Medal of Honor Park, on East Broadway. Coming here was sort of a last minute, spur the moment kind of decision, but we were definitely happy we decided to stop by. Steve was supremely helpful and knowledgeable, and their offerings were all tasty and have interesting backstories. We ended up taking a bottle of rum home. Usually we enjoy Sullivan’s when there is warm weather, enjoying a walk around Castle Island. But, Sullivan’s has a great hot dog and a lobster roll off season too! It is where the locals go, for quick eats, enjoying the water views or fishing off the pier. We are not talking fancy but very satisfying
Our stay at the Cambria hotel was amazing. Staff was very helpful. Mostly the general manager Mr Gubert was the nicest person we have ever met in our entire hotel stays. My wife and I will stay at this hotel again and we highly recommended the Cambria hotel.
Thank you so very much!!!
