We had an amazing guide named Louis. Make sure you ask for him before you start your trip. The place is in the middle of the jungle in a very remote area. Do NOT expect any real world comforts. Its quite rough but quite enjoyable...更多
I am going to write this not so much as a review as as a highly detailed description of what you are going to encounter, as we felt a little apprehensive all the way through and none of the descriptions really did it for us....更多
The visit at Ecolodge was the highlight of my trip to South America! The guides are the best and the huaoranis are so friendly. I especially enjoyed the way we got "educated" in the complexity of the clash between huaorani people, civilication, education and worst...更多
All I can say is WOW! Never in a million years did I imagine myself in the Amazon learning from a primitive culture. This was a last minute trip as I had a few days in Quito before starting my teaching job on the Galapagos...更多
Hallo, welchen Reisestecker benötige ich für die Lodge?
Vielleicht haben Sie ja auch ein Bild des Steckers.

We have a comprehensive Explorers Guide developed for all confirmed clients coming to the Huaorani Ecolodge. We will make sure you get your copy soon, that said the plugs for the HUaorani Ecolodge and in general Ecuador is type A. We look forward to your visit. With kind regards, the Huaorani Ecolodge team.
Hi Jim, I have been looking at the reviews for the Huaorani Ecolodge for quite a while trying to guage if it would be ok for myself and my family. I plan to go to Equador next summer and have a 8 year old and 11 year old boy. We are quite fit and have travelled a fair bit, but I do know from last time I tried anything like this at the end of the day they are western kids who moan alot. Can you give me an indication of how they would find it. Will they be bored, uncomfortable hungry? I have read a couple of reviews that mention not getting fed all day, and a couple that have talked about wading through mud all the time in the heat? Like I say we are not soft but at the same time selfishly I don't want to spoil the experience for myself by setting myself up for failure. Before you say it leaving them behind isn't an option!
How do you get to your lodge from Quito?
Do you have a room available for 2 adults from March 31st through April 5th?

We drive down from Quito with our guide some interpretation, nice breakfast a couple of strategic stops and as many stops as you would like for photos, etc to the small city of Shell from where we charter our planes to fly into Huaorani territory.
The grass landing strip is in the main community (Quehueri’ono) and the closest one to the Lodge. Basically we built the lodge in agreement and coordination with the locals away from the community to avoid mixing their ecotourism business with their day-to-day routines. Its 30-45 min downriver (we don’t use motors and the idea is after the drive and flight to reduce the speed acknowledge where you are at and arrive silently to the lodge! Its a very cool way to slow down and let your mind “digest” the journey, now you are in the middle of the Amazon and heart of Huaorani territory!
For more details please visit our Huaorani Ecolodge or Destination Ecuador.
We have a special departure from the 25th to the 28th of March. Please contact us 1-888-207-8615 for more details.
All the best,
The team at the Huaorani Ecolodge
