The hotel is very well located in a very nice part of Sydney out of the CBD. Our room was on the top floor and was large. We also had an outdoor private balcony. However no lift access to the top floor - stairs for...更多
First the hotel is in a great location, pedestrian friendly neighbourhood, nice for walking around a good local pub and plenty of good eateries. Ferry just down the street into city.
Room was small as you would expect in a city hotel, wish we could...更多
Just a two night stay. Rooms are small but ok. Unusual lay out with a big atrium in the middle, no windows or natural light. The lady at reception was less than helpful for change. Location is good for food and shopping.
Quite easy to find hotel in a quiet neighberhood, around 15 minutes walk from the nearest train station, which will connect you with Sydney centre.
The hotel is small, a little out dated as same for the rooms. The room is small, but almost has...更多
Room was clean and tidy, complementary tea/coffee.
Great position, close to the city centre and public transport.
The area where the hotel is located is very nice, shops, cafes, restaurants and supermarket at walking distance!
Good value for money in Sydney!
How far is this hotel from Sydney harbour and how long would it take to travel there on local transport?

It takes about 15 min. By Ferry to Circular Quay, but the schedule is erratic. Check Transport NSW and Eastern Suburbs line.
We are due to arrive, along with our two friends, from England on the 28th February for 7 nights and are really looking forward to our stay at the Savoy, as during this time both couples will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversaries and I will be celebrating my birthday too. Would it be possible to have rooms next to each other with an adjoining balcony please? Many thanks, Alma Lewis.

Hi Alma, yes it is. cannot remember the room numbers but they are on level three of the hotel. There are also some rooms that face Knox Lane which runs at the rear of the hotel and they have a smaller terrace but the rooms are larger. There is a great pub across the road about 50m away and some great restaurants. I go to Sydney every couple of months for work, sometimes with my wife and sometimes on my own and found the Savoy last year after about 12 years of staying in different hotels largely in the CBD and Darling Harbour. Now I only ever stay at The Savoy and it is not down to value for money as I do not foot the bill but because the hotel is friendly and Double Bay is just so well located. Hope you have a wonderful wedding anniversary. Cheers. David
