Stayed when we went to a concert in Stockport. The welcome and service on arrival was excellent and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

Thank you for your question. In terms of taxis from Manchester Airport I would personally recommend using a private company such as (Metro or Lynx) as opposed to the traditional British "black cabs" which are often much more expensive.
It is difficult to give an exact figure but I would expect that a private firm would cost just over GBP 10.00.
With regards to the train transportation, it is a little more tricky. As there is no direct train from Manchester Airport to Stockport you will need to go into Manchester Piccadilly and change - this journey can take about 30 - 40 minutes and typically costs between GBP 4 -8.
Although it does cost a little more I would personally recommend a taxi as it usually only takes about 15 minutes.
