I have read conflicting reports regarding the length of time it takes to get from the hotel to Manhattan. We are considering this hotel because I can pay for the entire cost with Hilton points but I don't want to get caught in heavy traffic travelling back and forth.
Has anyone had any real issues with the bus system, or are the majority of travellers finding that it wasn't too bad. We plan to go to NY late September from Thursday to Tuesday.
Any advice, opinions etc, would be greatly appreciated!

The New Jersey Transit bus stop is about 1/4 mile walk from the hotel. Going to New York City on weekday mornings during rush hour, the busses have their own lane. The travel time will depend upon the amount of traffic and if there are any accidents affecting the drive. The distance is three miles to the Lincoln Tunnel and most days in the morning during rush hour the trip will be 15 to 20 minutes on the bus. If there is an issue, then the travel time would be longer. The bus is $7 round trip per adult. If the trip into the city is after rush hour and before the evening rush hour, the trip can be 10 to 15 minutes. All busses will go into the Port Authority Bus Terminal which is walking distance to Times Square. If there are any additional questions, please call our front desk at 201-864-1400

The subway is not nearby but there's a bus a few minutes walking away that takes you directly to Port Authority. It was really easy and quick to get into the city and we took the subway from there.
