We stayed in the Blue shepherds hut and it was great. Everything is provided for your stay. Showers are hot and always clean. Site well looked after. My son and I spend most of the summer holidays camping at different sites around Devon and Cornwall and thought we would have a bit of luxury. We both came away saying it was the best site we had stayed on this summer. Excellent location close to the coast for swimming or just lounging on the beach. Plenty of food shops if you want to cook or places to eat out if you don't. Owner is helpful but respects your privacy.
This was a great family holiday! Big enough that our kids found plenty of other children to play with, but small enough that we all knew each other - so it felt safe to let the kids play outside all evening. We had a lovely evening toasting masrshmallows round the fire pit. Spotlessly clean and with everything you could possibly want from a glamping holiday. Very friendly welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend!
Wow and wow, we visited in June, the weather was lovely, some rain of course. We were greeted by Deborah. Shown around our cabin. It was massive, around the back of your cabin, your own individual camp kitchen, just enough of everything in there to cook a meal, make coffee in the morning, gas and stove supplies along with utensils, plates ect. There is also a tv room in another cabin if it's raining or to keep the kids happy, separate to that is another hut with plug sockets mirror your very own room to dry your hair and put your makeup on ladies. If your not spoilt enough with that there is also your own toilet, yet another room to store your fridge/freezer bits and wash up, fall size freezer and fridge 6ft high plenty of room, fire pit, bbq area. Around the corner is a pub about 5 minute walk. The river camel is nearby. Great area to visit Cornwall.…
We loved the location, the set up (which was almost new) and facilities. Also loved private toilet etc. But, and it's a big but, the owner was quite moody. She scolded me twice about my son running about. Although I do understand that there must be rules, it felt like I was being told off whereas I am a customer. Overall, disappointed for that reason. We then went on to another campsite and the kids could run about, make noise and enjoy themselves much better. Shame as apart from that it was a great experience. One final point is that the lighting is very poor inside the tents at night (dim and cold lighting from two small battery lanterns). Fortunately we brought our own but we really shouldn't need to at that price.
We hired one of the tents and absolutely loved it! All the simplicity of camping without having to take anything with you. The tents were so clean and the bed was comfy and as the weather wasn't kind to us the log burner turned out to be a godsend. We walked in the rain and then came back, lit the fire and snuggled for the afternoon. Bliss! Having our own kitchen was fab too and the owners had thought of everything. The showers were clean and new and the site was immaculate. We will definitely be back to this wonderful site in a beautiful part of Cornwall.
