The Habberstad house seemed to us the nicest looking B and B in Lanesboro. Quietly situated at the end of a tree-lined street at the "other" side of town. The gardens are well cared for and the location was perfect. The house itself is beautiful-...更多
We had an amazing time at the Habberstad House! We stayed in the Carriage House and loved the privacy and the breakfasts were outstanding. I am a vegan - and was more than pleasantly surprised how they went out of their way to create something...更多
Nancy and Dave were wonderful hosts - and they can sure cook a delicious breakfast with lots of variety - I loved the sweet item that was included at each meal. There were 3 different outside seating areas to enjoy the beautiful gardens - we...更多
Loved this place. Beautiful house in perfect shape. It was spotless. Great hosts both friendly and helpful. Pretty gardens with a fountain. The breakfast was delicious. The potato crusted quiche being my personal favorite. This bed and breakfast is what a B&B should be.
We did check out many others, both in person and on the web, and none were even close. The residential setting added to the experience. The best descriptors are gorgeous, pristine, immaculate, quiet, tasteful, warm, welcoming and delicious. Our Heather Room was perfect and comfortable....更多
Yes, the Amish Suite on our third floor has two double beds. It also has a sitting area with a TV and a small round table and four chairs which works well for playing card and board games.
Thanks for asking!
I have 2 questions:
1) We are planning to stay in Lanesboro the first week of September which includes a bile trip down the Root River. How far and what are the directions to the bike trail?
2) My son would like to join my wife and I on the bike trip. He could bring a sleeping bag. Could he stay with us; say in the Rose Room?

The bike trail goes right through the middle of town, with several places to rent bikes and helmets etc. if you haven't brought your own. This is circa 1 mile from Habberstad house… we drove our car into town then, and parked near the bike rental. Easy to do.
If you have your own bike, it's an easy ride… basically pretty flat, no major hills, from Habberstad house to where you can pick up the trail. (FYI, going east not too many miles on the bike trail you get to a wonderful little town that has a great place that makes and sells pies…. check it out. A great destination to go to… eat, then turn back to home for a nice afternoons or mornings rides.
RE: the sleeping bag on the floor? Physically it would probably fit, but you'd best check with the owners.
