They had breakfast out early so I could make my 7:00am start time climbing Huayna Picchu. The very steep peak just north of Machu Picchu.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the shower was excellent.
We stayed with an OAT, Overseas Adventure Travel, tour. The old building is nice and the rooms were clean. We did have to carry our bags up the stairs but they do have help, if needed. The breakfast was outstanding. Only 3 minute walk to...更多
This is a good hotel in Machu Picchu. Not far from train station or bus to Machu Picchu, central location. Staff really nice and helpful, a few small issues with English however sorted out quickly. A few issues with wifi but still decent. Lovely view...更多
Stayed there for a 2D1N during the visit to Machu Picchu, it's located aside the Urubamba river (which tour guide said it's the entrance of Amazon river). My room is facing the river so that I could enjoy the view of it; however, you will...更多
Stayed here after our Inca Trail Trek. It's located just off the mail tourist area which means that it's pretty quiet. Our room over looked the river which made for a very good nights sleep. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The have a...更多
We are arriving on June 6 from Cusco on an Inca Rail train, leaving Olantaytambo at 7:20am, arriving I assume in Machu Picchu at 8:48am and would like to drop off our luggage at your hotel and quickly get up to the top of Machu Picchu. We already have our Machu Picchu tickets for 6/6 and 6/7. Is this feasible?
1. How far are you from the Inca Rail train station?
2. Is it feasible to walk our luggage to your hotel and store it for the day?
3. THen, where do we go to get transport up to the top of Machu Picchu?
Your suggestions would be most appreciated.

The train station is outside of the local crafts market. You have to traverse across the market to get to town. The town is on one side of the river, the train station and the market on the other. The main bus station is on the town side of the river just across the river. The hotel is on the main road going up to Machu Piichu. The concept of "blocks" is not quite correct as the town is very narrow and not laid out in blocks. But distance wise, the hotel is probably a couple of blocks from the bus stop.
I cannot speak for the hotel, but when we were there they were very accommodating. When we checked out we had an afternoon train and they stored our luggage from our morning checkout until we left. I would expect them to hold it until you returned to check in.
It is a short walk from the train station to the hotel and the only difficulty would be the road and construction. There are some sidewalks, but some were closed for construction. We traveled quite lite so it was no problem for us. Then it is a short walk back up to the main buss station. It is easy to find since it is right on the street, is marked by a sign, and generally a line of people waiting to go up the mountain. I think the schedule was for a bus every thirty minutes, but they leave as fast as they are loaded. We usually had to wait one bus.
Buy some bottled water in town before you go up. There is no eating in the ruin, but your ticket is good for reentry so you can exit and get something to eat and then re enter. There is an expensive place to eat up there plus a snack shop. We bought a sandwich down in town and then carried it and ate it up there, outside of course.
Your plan is very feasible. We also spent two days there. I really enjoyed the hotel, Machu Picchu, and the town. I am sure you will enjoy yourself.
Read my review for answers to most of your questions. It is a short walk from the train depot thought the road is a bit broken. They were great about storing my luggage after checkout. Bus departure is just up the street by the office where you buy tickets In advance. You must already have tickets when you board the bus. Internet at this hotel was awful but I was using my IPad. I believe they do have hard wired computers in the lobby for guest use.
"request for a room not facing the river if you are sensitive to noise at night"
