Ramadan will have just concluded. June-September is the worst time of year to travel to the gulf. It is so hot! You will need to severely limit your daytime outdoor activities at that time of year. The malls are amazing, particularly in Dubai. At Shangri-la there is a small boutique "souk" mainly good for eating (restaurants and cafes). I find it is very easy to find vegetarian options due to the influence of two cultures on the region: 1) Indian and 2) Lebanese. You will have no problem finding lentils and rice or salads. Also, there are many italian options. Happy travels!

I didn't try the nightclub, apparently it's good if you like r&b. Not too much around that area, there's a sho cho restaurant and leftbank bar and resto nearby on the souk. Ramadan has ended by then.
