I wish to second the views of the previous writer with my own additional experiences. I also booked this hotel over the Internet through a hotel booking service. I relied largely on the hotel’s website as a guide and was also unpleasantly surprised upon arrival. I can best describe my experience at this hotel as very strange. As a single female travelling alone I was given a room in a structure at the back of the hotel which was not in the main building. Access to the room (after waiting for 1 hour till the room was ready) was only through going up metal rickety stairs so it was quite a feat to drag up my heavy luggage to get to the room. According to the website the rooms have been renovated however, there was evidence of wear and tear in my room and a strange unsanitary smell that permeated from the bathroom. Needless to say the room looked very different from the pictures on the website. Most of the hotel staff that I encountered including the lady who was supposed to be the Manager were sullen, unprofessional and appeared to have a distaste for the hospitality industry that became apparent in the rude manner that they treated guests. The reception closed at 10pm so it as impossible to receive any incoming calls and the main door to the hotel was locked at this time. Access to my room after 10pm involved opening a gate and (running) in the dark through a narrow alley to reach the metal stairs. I did not feel particularly safe especially as the neighbourhood was on the dodgy side in the daytime let alone in the evening. The door in my room would also not close properly so I had to place my heavy luggage against it to ensure a good night’s sleep and peace of mind. Within an hour of arriving at the hotel I began contacting other hotels to secure a room for the next day. I was supposed to stay 2 nights but the next morning I quickly made my escape to a hotel in the city centre. Also this hotel is definitely NOT in the city centre! I think the icing on the cake came when I cancelled the next day’s room reservation (giving 24 hours notice as required by the website I had booked through) and the Manager stated that it was not enough notice and refused to refund my money. Even a call from my hotel booking service to the Manager did not get me a refund. I could have pursued the matter further but at that stage I just wished to get out of the hotel at all costs. I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel unless every other establishment in Copenhagen is booked out, even then it is better to try to stay at a hostel or B&B. …
We took a risk in booking to stay at TOP Hotel Leda as there was no Trip Advisor review on the place. This was a mistake. We relied upon the hotel's website, which turned out to be inaccurate and misleading. The hotel is in a shabby, run-down district. Its double-glazing was unable to stop the noise from the builder's yard next door or the supermarket loading bay opposite. The nearby rail station does not provide through access to either the city centre or the airport without changing. Buses stop nearby and are very frequent and cheap. The hotel's website states that it is suitable for people with disabilities, but access to the entrance is up four steep steps with no handrail, and there are other steps throughout the hotel. There is a lift, but guests are not allowed to use it at night. The hotel was converted a few years ago from a derelict factory, and its industrial origin is very evident. Since then it does not appear to have had any redecoration and is badly in need of it. Our room and the corridors were dusty. The venetian blinds were damaged and the curtains were cheap, thin and too small. We had been there two days before we were supplied with soap. Although fresh towels were provided when needed, the bedlinen was not changed in five days. There is no air conditioning, and the only means of ventilation on what was stifling weather was by opening the windows onto the noise of the street. The "antique" furniture was mainly damaged and tatty and the wardrobe was like a small larder unit. The "bathroom" was very small and it was difficult to use the shower without falling over the toilet. Strangely, there was no plug in the wash basin. The breakfast was meagre in choice and quality. The breakfast area was cramped. The staff were friendly enough and reception staff did speak English. We left the hotel two days earlier than planned as we could no longer tolerate it. We would not recommend this hotel to any other visitors if any other accommodation in Copengagen was available. …
