The property was reasonable. There were many rules and regulations, that were written down in a curt and unfriendly manner. The place was not very dog friendly as people were continually walking past and you had to go a distance to actually walk your dog. Dogs were not allowed upstairs, which is fine as a rule but needs to be stated when you book the holiday. Some dogs may be afraid of being alone in a strange place. There were a few things wrong, that were finally dealt with. An email was sent as we were leaving telling us to dishwash all the cutlery and utensils, which of course we didn't have time to do. Everything was left clean and tidy and we, therefore, as adults, did not have to be told. Many better places for the amount of money that it cost.
Small certificated site so only a few large pitches on very level well kept ground.
Facilities (two toilets, one shower) were kept very clean and looked more like rooms you'd find in a house with extra little touches. The shower was hot but turned into a cold dribble when someone flushed the cistern or used the hot water tap. (Try and time your shower when everyone is still in bed or off-site!)
The shower room is set up for use by those with limited mobility.
There is an under cover washing up area with hot water.
The camping field is next to a small meadow which you can walk around and the whole site is surrounded by hedges and trees.
You can hear the constant traffic on the nearby A27 which may disturb you if you are used to absolute quiet at night but there is also plenty of birdsong.
There are recycling facilities for bottles and plastics but we couldn't find a bin for paper and card so be prepared to take this home.
We couldn't find any bricks or blocks on site on which to place a barbecue so it's best to take something with you.
Picturesque Bosham is just half an hour walk away. There are two Co-ops and several places to eat and drink within a short distance.
This is a Camping & Caravanning Club site in a small yet lovely location. It is situated just off the A27 very close to West Ashling, East Ashling and Funtington. The managers, John & Jackie are very helpful and welcoming. There are a small number of pitches, located in a small meadow, both hardstanding and grass pitches with electric hook up. The shower, toilet and washing up facilities were scrupulously clean, fresh smelling and cleaned daily. This was a brilliant location for exploring Chichester (about 4 miles away), Arundel (about 8 miles away) and the beaches of Bognor Regis, Littlehampton etc., are also within easy reach. There are two Co-op stores nearby and larger supermarkets just a little further afield. the beautiful seaside village of Bosham is extremely picturesque - beware where you park at high tide daily! We would certainly have no hesitation in returning to this site, where the birds were beginning to build their nests in located nest boxes on site. Whilst one could hear traffic on the A27, it was minimal and not a disturbance at all. Thank you to John & Jackie for a wonderfully relaxing week!
