Unusual church in the shape of chicken to visit before or after the temple of Borobudur. A visit that we loved for the beautiful 360° view that the ridge offers. Place became famous following the shooting of an Indonesian film.
Award: 25k/pers for foreigners. From the cash register, you have to make a small climb of 10 minutes or take a shuttle ( 10k the climb, 15k the A/R).

A unique church was built (still under construction) in the 1990's after Daniel Alamsjah had a dream, the church is multi faith and rather strange, but worth the visit, great views to had from the head of the chicken!
There is a nice cafe along with a shop selling locally made gifts.

As i am not religous i normally give churches a wide berth, but the unusual nature of this one intrigued me and the views from the top were great. The path up is very steep, but only about 200m long. 4x4 cars offer to drive you up and down. Had it been wet i may have considered it. We got there via a taxi from borobudur for 75krp return as he had to wait for us. Entrance fee was 25k each, and 10k rp parking fee for the taxi.

Please can you change the name of this attraction as this place of prayer is not a chicken. The design is of a Dove with a crown on its head. Depicting PEACE for all. This place also isn’t a church, it’s a house of prayer. The residents find it insulting calling it a chicken. So please change the title of this attraction. Do your research correctly.

Not worth a visit if you’re tight for time. Nothing very interesting, although you will get to up to the crown and see the sights from the top. There also free snack as part of the ticket admission. When we were there, they were also repainting the “chicken” - I’d have preferred they not as the structure now looks rather cartoon-y. Won’t miss out if you don’t visit this place.

Eine sehr ungewöhnliche "Kirche"! Gebaut für alle Religionen dies Welt. Es gibt Räume für Christliche, Orthodoxe, Muslimische, Hindu und Buddhistische Gebet/Meditation Räume. Obwohl der Gebäude wie eine Huhn aussieht, es sollte eine Taube mit Kopfschmuck sein. Nettes, kleines Restaurant ist auch vorhanden.

This place was really unique, if you going to Borobudur temple, spare some time to go here. Really good to know the history, and also spare some time to pray here. Even it called as a church, actually they said "house of prayer for every Nation" so every religion can prey here, as long as you feel comfortable.
