We visited the museum which explains the involvement of Canadians during the landings.
We are also Awarded tickets to take the Bunkers tour which I absolutely recommend. Thanks to Guide Camille for her investment, her passion for D-Day history is felt during the guided tour.

The museum is interesting, exhibited beautiful pieces although it may lack a little interactivity. Lots of reading and quite few movies that help understand.

Un grand merci pour ce très bon avis et votre retour d'expérience. Effectivement, l'exposition présente beaucoup de contenu historique. Chaque visiteur est libre de lire les panneaux qu'il souhaite. Je vous avoue être un peu surprise par votre remarque concernant les films. La visite du musée débute par un film de 4 minutes et se termine par un film de 12 minutes. Puis, dans presque chaque salle de l'exposition, on retrouve des vidéos avec des images d'archives commentées ou des témoignages visuels.

Very interesting visit with a good mix of educational information, films and scenographies. Visiting the bunkers adds a relevant touch. It should be noted that all guides are of Canadian origin which allows a more thorough immersion.

We went with three under 8 for an intro to D-Day based on a recommendation from Ouistreham tourist info. Great window not just into the events but also the war from a Canadian point of view. Kids very engaged, excellent videos an interactive point scoring games. The three year old just about made it... Didn't hurt that all the staff were naturally bilingual. I learnt quite a bit, would definitely recommend.

The entire beach area and towns support Canada!! The museum is excellent. We walked to the major British beach Sword and OMG what a terrible disappointment… absolutely no recognition of the sacrifice made

We went as we're Canadian and although less frequented than other beaches and centres we found it very moving. We went for the free viewing of Storming Juno which was simply outstanding. Thank you for this opportunity. We didn't go into the museum - no need to after watching the documentary which brought to life the incredible sacrifice of 1000 of the 16 000 Canadians who fought for freedom

A must-see site to learn more about Canadians before and after the Second World War. Two films, one of them really poignant. The center is conveniently located facing the sea. Take the ticket including a visit to the bunkers. Very good price. With an innovation: a low-carbon ticket if you come by train or bike

We visited the museum, guided tour of the bunkers with Emma who is a great guide and the geo cache on the exterior site a wonderful day spent with family we learned and understood a lot of things about the landing of the Canadians at Juno Beach and the children were as delighted as we were. Thank you for this great site.

I had prebooked a timed guided tour online and Madison took a group of 10, all Canadians in this case, to 2 German bunkers and to the beach where the Canadian forces landed on D Day. You can’t go underground into the bunkers without a guide. So many interesting tidbits inside. She said the bunkers along the Atlantic Wall could be built so quickly as the area commander could choose what he wanted, prefab, like IKEA and then force the locals to put them together.
After our 45 minute tour, we went through the museum. Price is included with the guided tour.
The museum isn’t huge, which is nice, very well laid out, and doesn’t bombard you with so much information. But there are still great displays on what Canada was like pre war, the why’s and wherefores of Canadians and then of course entering WW11. Very well done. The movie at the end is extremely moving and brought tears to many eyes.
The gift shop at the end has lots of great souvenirs including a wall with Canadian food products! And after being in northern Belgium and France for 10 days, it was so nice to hear Canadian accents!
As a Canadian I felt very proud of what had been accomplished at Juno Beach and this centre is well worth a visit.

Is it possible to visit the beach and area without going inside the museum or taking the tour?

Ciao, scusa vedo solo ora. E' il museo più nuovo che abbia visitato in Normandia. Credo sia accessibile anche in sedia a rotelle. Inoltre ci lavorano tanti giovani canadesi molto disponibili. Sono certa che in caso di bisogno troverete l'aiuto necessario.

Planning a trip to Paris in October. It's only a short 2 1/2 days in Paris. I'd love to get to Juno Beach to show my respects and express my thanks. I def. don't want to rush the trip but time will be an issue. To get there and back from Paris and take in the sites how much time should I allocate? How much did it cost to rent a car? Tolls? etc.
Any help you could give is greatly appreciated.

This can be done in one day but you will miss a lot. The drive is over 3 hours and you could see a lot in 4 to six hours. Plus you need time for lunch by the sea. It is unfortunate not to see the US and British beaches, but you can not do it all in half a day.
I have had good luck and lowest prices from Europcar rentals. Check out online!
If you have deep pockets hire a guide otherwise be sure to at least get a good guide book ahead of time.

We are on a Cruise docking at Le Havre on Sunday, April 30th - We want to tour Juno Beach and we're thinking of renting a car but they all seem to be closed on Sunday. Also Viator tours are very expensive for car & Guide. do you have any suggestions?

If you are interested in a tour to the Juno Beach Centre and extending into the Juno sector including transportation, I suggest you inquire with one of the tour companies listed on our website (undering the headings Tourist Information -- guided tours of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy sites). Notably, Normandy Siteseeing Tours or ACSM as they can provide pick-ups from the cruise docks.

We will be coming to Caen via train mid morning. Wondering if our best bet to get to Juno Beach is a taxi? Is it easy to find a taxi, and will they be available for the return trip as well?

Not really Normandy is better by car, and usually there's rain in that area, lots to see in the area!

Thank you for your email and for your interest in the visiting the Juno Beach Centre and I apologize for my delay in replying (the email from Tripadvisor was missed by my colleagues during my vacation). As part of our regular offer here at the museum, our guided tours of Juno Park bunkers are in fact scheduled at 10h30, 11h30, 14h30 and 16h30 in English (from July 1st to August 31st).
To attend one of these tours, you simply need to arrive minimum 20 minutes before the tour in order to purchase your tickets at the boutique and have the time to get to the meeting point outside. Alternatively, you may come an hour and a half early and start with visiting the museum. For information on ticket prices, please consult this section of our website. Notably, the combined ticket for the museum and the guided tour of Juno Park is 11€ for adults and 9€ for 8-18 year olds. There is also a Family Pass rate including the museum and the bunker visit at 33€ for up to 3 children and 2 adults.
If you are interested in a tour extending inland into the Juno sector including transportation, I suggest you inquire with one of the tour companies listed on our website (undering the headings Tourist Information -- guided tours of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy sites.
