I suggest you make enquiries with the organizers before you land in Phillip Island and book tickets. The organizers are very helpful and always willing to assist anyone who needs help and advise.

Underground is good value. Ground level with the penguins

Hi we drove there as we are from Sydney but if you go onto website I am sure there were packages that included bus from Melbourne City out to site and were inclusive of fares and ticket prices. We booked tickets on line so we didn't have to line up.

It depends on which experience you want. When we went there was availability for the main viewing area but none for the exclusive experiences. We had booked prior to visiting.

Buongiorno Cesare. L’evento è molto commerciale. È stata creata un enorme struttura (peraltro a settembre 2018 era in ampliamento) che parte dal entroterra zona antistante un enorme parcheggio e con un sistema molto organizzato di passerelle in legno sopraelevate dalla spiaggia si arriva ognuno al propio spalto ( una sorta di gradinata) su cui ti fanno sedere di fronte al mare. La posizione dipende dal biglietto che acquisti. La plus che abbiamo scelto noi era sul lato destro verso la fine della lunga spiaggia e devo dire che di pinguini c’è ne erano un sacco. Appena si arriva conviene dirigersi sulla passerella in quanto i regners fanno sedere nei posti in ordine di arrivo. I rangers sono molto severi nei controlli. Le spiegazioni sono tutte in inglese ma si riesce a seguire. Gli stessi pinguini si vedono gratuitamente a st kilda raggiungibile con il bus dal centro di Melbourne. Noi saremmo dovuti andare al Wilson promontory ma le previsioni del tempo erano pessime per cui ci siamo fermati a Philip Island!

Sort of yes! When we were there we went a walk at the Nobbies centre, this is a gorgeous long boardwalk with the most amazing views. Parking is free and afterwards you can go for a coffee in the centre (this bit is free, you only have to pay if you want to go into the antarctic museum). We always have our binoculars with us and along the walk you can see the penguin burrows/boxes in the hillside. They all look empty but actually the baby chics stay here all day, most of them hunker down but we saw quite a few in the burrows, you can see them with the naked eye but with the binoculars you get a great close up view.
