The way through the gorge: Close to the water is the more comfortable way.
A stony jetty leads through tunnels and galleries, some of which are not even 2 m high. You have to pull your head in here. This trail is especially suitable for families with children and you are very close to the wild water.

Very impressive throats. They're worth a visit and deserve. The approach walk lasts about 1 hour uphill. In the gorge it is very cool and humid: rain clothes or a poncho are welcome. Check-out parking (Wanderparkplatz 2) is expensive: 13 eur mini which is excessive. For comparison, the one in Garmisch next to the ski jump ramp costs only 5 euro.

Very impressive, quite a steep climb, but even our children managed it if you take your time.
The only downside was the €13 parking fee. Entry to the gorge is at the top and can only be paid in cash, toilets cost extra!
The gorge itself was impressive and very wet, so make sure you wear sensible shoes and clothing. There is a risk of rock falls at the top, and when we were there, some fell straight away!

We liked this better than the Caminito del Rey in Spain. It is much heavier if you walk to the restaurant at the top. Höllentalangerhütte.
NB!!! YOU CAN ONLY PAY HERE WITH CASH.
You can use a raincoat on some areas. Not necessarily necessary. Sturdy shoes though.
You also have to walk for an hour before you reach the entrance. That is also a climb in itself. But you can also see beautiful water features there.

The climb is definitely worth it! But I hate stairs and there are a lot of them... but it's still impressive and just beautiful.

With the Eibsee bus to Hammersbach. First a steep climb up, before you enter the Klamm (entrance). Varied tour up along the waterfall. Take a break at a Berghaus and then a long climb to Hupfleitenjoch with distant views. Sometimes the Ravine is close, but there are steel cables hanging along the cave walls. After a climb of 4-5 hours, return with the Kreuzeckbahn, after first a Weizen beer.

A great day in the gorge. Spectacular nature. It is advisable to dress a little warmer and bring rain protection against the water from above.

The gorge walk is very impressive in terms of the natural features, the crashing water and the civil engineering.
The car park fee is not cheap at a minimum of 13 Euros, and for that money I would expect some decent public toilets - but there were just two portaloos, which we dirty and had no loo paper at 9.30 in the morning. Given the amount of cars in the car park, it wouldn't take long to fund some decent facilities for the tourists.

Abenteuerliches unvergessliches Erlebnis. Die Wanderung bis zur Höllentalanger Hütte ist ein wahres Erlebnis: Das rauschende talabwärts Wasser und der Weg rechts oder links den Berg hinauf versprechen unvergessliche Momente.

I wonder if can still hike Hell Valley the first week of November? Also, Is the hut still open then for eating? If it's not open, we're considering doing Partnachklamm instead.

You won't be able to hike in November! The Höllentalklamm is closed from October throu May due to the weather and snow conditions. Partnachklamm is opened all year so you should go for that. Greetings

I would like to hike Hollentalklamm in August. Can this hike be done in hiking sandals? Do I need rain pants in addition to a rain jacket? What temperature can I expect in the gorge in August?
