The Millyard Museum has a lot of varied, interesting exhibits about mills in Manchester. There are also good exhibits about life in Manchester in the heydays of the mills. The museum is the moderate size. Yet people of all ages should be able to find something interesting. There is a pleasant gift shop. The staff is friendly and informative.

Best mill museum! Have been multiple times, & never tire of walking through there. Interesting era when all the mills were running.

This was an unplanned stop which delivered some nice surprises. Lots of rain made us change up our day a bit so we detoured through Manchester when we heard about this place. Not over-priced and very interesting! We spent just over an hour reading through the displays and looking at all of the artifacts and pictures. Our teens even enjoyed the games they had set out sporadically throughout the museum. Great conversations with our 15 and 17 yo teens about the great era of manufacturing in America and the development of our “melting pot” society. After we left and continued our drive, the conversation shifted into how and why we now do most manufacturing overseas. Very educational and enjoyable museum.

Spent an hour or so going through the museum, but could have made it an entire afternoon if we had the time. As someone who grew up in Manchester, but been away for 50 years, I really enjoyed going though the history of Manchester. I was definitely impressed by the breadth and extent of the displays.

The entrance and free parking for the building housing the museum is in the back on Commercial Street. The basic admission price is $8 with a few discount categories. It is an excellent history of the Manchester, New Hampshire region. There are many artifacts, information boards, models, and a few videos. There is a gift shop. COVID-19: The employees were masked and visitors were expected to be masked and maintain social distancing protocols throughout their stay. The floors have arrows to guide you through the museum to further enhance social distancing.

Since arriving in Manchester I was curious about the history of the buildings that were obviously factories at one point. The Millyard Museum met my curiosity with facts about Manchester’s mill history.

This was an eye opening tour, telling the material manufacturing in the greater area of Manchester, New Hampshire! We were highly impressed by the entire layout and information! The story starts in the early 19th century all the way through the 1940’s. See the beautiful Horse driven fir engine, how the mills operated or the riots of 1930 caused over wages! Highly Recommended

The Millyard Museum is in the historic Amoskeag Millyard. The Museum depicts Manchester and the people who have lived and worked here. Unbelievably, this small museum has exhibits that detail life of early inhabitants who fished at Amoskeag Falls 11,000 years ago onward. Other displays show the farmers and lumbermen, and the beginnings of industry in the area. Exhibits include an old fire-engine, machines that fabricated cloth and other textile products, everyday things folks wore and used. Not a place for very small kids, but elementary kids will love the many exhibits. They have a small store for souvenir shoppers.

Let me start with parking. It is an issue depending on how far you want to walk. There is a LOT of reserved parking and parking is strictly enforced. Be warned!!!
So after parking several thousands of feet we arrived. Yes you can take the elevator but it is so much more fun to take the steep spiral staircase.
Everything in the museum was immaculate but I know they only had a small percent of there stuff showed. I was really looking forward to see admiral nutts stuff.
Enjoyed the trip and the visit to the gift shop.
The greeter/cashier was a great asset, but it would have been nice if they had a docent.

A wonderful way to learn about the history of Manchester for the young and old. There is interesting facts and artifacts to look at and read about. I really liked the information on the mills and the cotton production.
