I rated with 1 star because it is currently owned by Terribles and the local news today announced (I live in town too,) it was approved today to become an industrial park.

This is now called Terrible's, not Gold Strike. We walked in and looked for our favorite slots that we like to play elsewhere, and we found none of them. We spent five minutes walking around looking, and then we left. On the bright side, it didn't cost us any money.

Terrible's has taken control of this location and the entertainment is great without large crowds. Hotel quality has increased and common areas are clean and free from debris. Customer service is also worth an E for Effort. Waiting time when there is a technical problem with machines is less than 5 minutes

Saw the new Terrible's sign on our way back from California, a pee break so what the H, so we get out, walk in and yep, just the same old crap bag it was when it was named the Gold Strike, this place only gets worse...here's a tip, need a rest room break? go to Terrible's new 96 gas pump Chevron station and store, This place is beyond huge, 100 + restroom stalls, and plenty to eat, drink and buy...other than the damn gasoline which is $3.95 a gallon for el cheapo regular...gas up in Vegas before you hit this place and save some money...or wait until you get to Yermo and stop at Eddies World, gas will be much cheaper there and in the Mens room urinals , they have tough screen games you can play for free as you go! ( yes they really do, and Yuck )

We stopped here because we had been driving for 11 hours, towing a jeep, and were exhausted. Should have kept going to Primm or stopped in Vegas on the way.
The hotel was dirty and very outdated. The whole place smelled of stale smoke and floors were, well, gross.
The staff were nice but a bit slow (in speed, not intellect). We were the only ones in line and seemed to take forever (exaggeration) to get our room key.
The room looked like it had not been redone since the 50s. Everything worked and we did not catch anything, so it was all good.
In the future, I would not stop there again, just not worth it.
OH! One more thing... it was very cheap. Much less than I thought it would be, so there is that.

The Hotel is located in Jean, about 20 miles from Vegas. The hotel rooms were of good order, large and clean. The hotel rates were very good value when booking online - and when checking in they even gave us a complimentary 'Dennys' breakfast voucher - even better! Breakfast was great. The service of the hotel was also very good. Quite a lot going on in the hotel. We would come again.

I always get an upgraded room. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean, showers are great! No fridge or microwave.
Casino just down the hall, with a Dennys inside. Great car show in the lobby. Prices are good.

Pee pee break, gambling, and eating. Those are the only reasons that I have ever stopped at Gold Strike Hotel in Jean, NV. Have never stayed the night so I cannot comment on their rooms.
I like the fact that the place is not crowded, and it is easily accessible from the freeway. I hate the fact that their ventilation system is worse than the average Las Vegas Casino. The smoke smell can be unbearable at times. Because of this, I do not stay too long here to gamble.

Rather than face the horrendous weekend evening traffic on I-15 from Vegas to Greater Los Angeles (after a Vegas day-trip) I did the short drive to Jean and stayed at Gold Strike.
The staff was professional, my room on the top floor was extremely quiet, and it was very inexpensive, well under $100.
I've have so many problems getting a quiet night's sleep in Vegas. Gold Strike in Jean solves that.

We went to see the free Hollywood car collection at the Gold Strike Hotel and Gambling Hall. It was fun to see and take photos of the cars. There are restaurants and gambling area as well. For overnight guests, there is a hotel.

Exhibit is at the south end of the Casino, only about 6 cars. Lighting is very dim.
