This trail runs right beside the Collie River. I started at the Eaton Foreshore Park, which is conveniently located just off Old Coast Rd. This is a lovely park with ample parking, good play facilities, and multiple clean toilets.
The trail at this point is paved, and runs almost right beside the south side of the river, in an easterly direction. After a short stretch, it becomes an off-road trail, although it is still quite flat and smooth. I was on my bike and could ride it most comfortably.
Altogether the trail goes for about 5km east of the Eaton Foreshore Park, all the way to Watson Reserve, where there is more parking, a gazebo, and toilets. From here the trail becomes the Collie River Wetlands Trail and goes for another 5km east.
It wasn't busy at all, and the river views are nice - just be wary of bugs and mosquitos; there are lots of warning signs about this as well.
