Spa pools are always a hit, but the price is crazy high! Pools on last weekend of Sept 23’ were buuuusy! The whole town is charming and the shops are fun. Restaurants are a good mix! From pizza to Mexican food, burgers and bbq, you name it, they’ve got it! Tube rentals are easy and fun! The roof top bar is loud and you can hear it projected across the whole town till midnight so if you’re looking for quiet Lava Hot Springs on the weekend ain’t it! Another noise attraction is the freight trains! Every hour on the hour at night they grace you with their blaring horns and screeching rails! But it’s no buggy! Highlite is the Olympic pool and indoor pools! They were kid friendly, spacious and clean! I feel like lava is that fun weekend getaway where everybody just has so much fun!

Thank you for taking the time to review. Weekend rates are $12 or $10 per person depending on age. It is even less on the weekdays. We are glad you had a great time.

Lava Hot Springs hot pools are awesome, and the staff are friendly and fun. The grounds are something special to behold, flowers, shrubs & trees, hummingbirds and the occasional duck. We've been to several hot springs in and around the area, and Lava Hot Springs is the best, so help me God.

We spent 90 minutes - just enough to sample all the pools. I like that the half dozen pools have varying temperatures without too many guests crowding in. Well maintained, clean, and good value. No spinner machine to dry suit - boo. This is not a rustic, in the woods experience. We arrived on an overcast, rainy day, so, slow time. I liked this place, but, like I said, modern.

Love the pool. But their chemicals are off and the pool ruined my three teenagers swimsuits. My one daughter had a brand new green swimsuit (second time wearing it) and by the time we left her suit was no longer green. (A sign that their Bromine levels were off). It looked like it had been bleached in several spots. It is no longer wearable and it was a $100 swimsuit.

We apologize this happened to your suits but our Hot springs are all natural mineral waters that come from the ground and do not have any chemicals in them at all. We hope you found what could have done it as it couldn't have been from our pools. So sorry.

We stopped here on our way back from Yellowstone and Grand Tetons on our way to the Salt Lake City Airport. It is reasonably priced to get in. Rent towels when you pay to get in if you need them. The lockers where only a $1.00 and we bought water for$1.00 in the gift shop. They have several pools with different temperatures so all 10 of us had a different pool to relax in. It is about halfway between the airport and Jackson Wyoming so it was a great way to break up the drive. There are several places nearby to eat and drink as well as places to rent tubes to go down the river. On our next trip here I would stop again!

We arrived on a Wednesday around noon. The parking lot is across the street from the hot spring. The parking lot was fairly packed and there is no charge for parking. We had never been to a hot spring before so we didn't know what to expect.
It was $8 for each adult. The lady working the counter was very nice and friendly. There are changing rooms for men and women and I also saw a family changing room which is nice.
The changing rooms themselves were ok. They were not dirty, they were just well used and fairly dated. Inside the changing room for the women, there were individual "changing rooms" with doors and a bench in each one. There were restrooms and showers on the opposite side of the changing rooms.
Outside the changing rooms were lockers if you wanted to store your items. I believe they were $1 each. We did not bring much inside so we just put our stuff down in the lawn. So did lots of others. Make sure to bring towels.
The pool themselves and the area around the pools were beautiful. Lots of well manicured plants and flowers around the property. There was a very large pool that no one was in. Come to find out later, it was the "hottest" pool. The pool we spent most of our time was a big pool and the bottom was rock. It was also one of the warmer pools, but the rocks felt so good on your feet.
There were 2-3 smaller pools with a medium temperature and another fairly large pool that was the coolest pool. That is where most of the people and kids were. There were no children in any of the pools except this one. This one and the 3 smaller pools had a large "umbrellas" over them so that is was mostly shaded in the pools.
The bottom of the medium temp pools were concrete but they did have some jets in them. The two larger, warmer pools did not have any shade.
It was a mild day, low 70's. We spent about an hour or so in and out of the tubs. It was very relaxing. There were not a whole lot of people when we went. We did buy 3 bottles of water inside the facility. I can not remember exactly how much it was, but I want to say it was less than $2 a bottle. Which was a nice surprise it wasn't $5.
When you leave, walk uphill to the Sunken Gardens on the same side as the hot springs. Its a small garden that backs to the Hot Spring. Its much cooler in this garden and feels really nice after being in the hot springs. No charge to enter the gardens and they are nice. You will get an above look at the hot springs you were just in.

Visited the hot spring pools on a Tuesday, and it was relatively busy. We only stayed for about an hour, but tried each pool.
The entire property was clean, well maintained and the flowers were beautiful.
The bathroom/changing/shower rooms were also clean and well maintained.
The lady who worked the admission desk was very friendly and allowed us to bring in empty water bottles (clearly stated on their website).
Would highly recommend as a starting off point to your day, or after you do the Idaho Centennial Trail across the street.
Thank you for a great experience.

I went with a large family group last week. It was a stormy day with lightening so we had to wait outside of the water for about 30 minutes. As soon as the lightning passed we got to go back into the hot tubs.
I tried to bring in two cans of Bubly sparkling water into the facility and both were confiscated. I even hid one behind the rocks but they searched it out and took it, after mentioning to me that they saw me hide it on their cameras. Meanwhile I'm surrounded by people drinking Gatoride that was purchased at their tiny overpriced store. And people were allowed to bring water bottles in. But my cans of Bubly were apparently a big issue.
How uncomfortable. Based on my customer service experience I probably won't return.
To be fair they returned my two unopened cans when I left.
I get the rules..it's to keep place clean and it IS very clean.
Crystal Hot Springs in Honeyville UT costs a little more but they are chill with their customers and there are two super fast water slides. So the kids are usually busy on the waterslides while the grown ups sit in the hot tubs.

We are sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to review. We DO expect our patrons to follow our rules when entering our facility. When patrons do not follow the rules they are typically asked to leave and drinks are confiscated.
We have many reasons for why we do not allow outside food and drinks for the safety and enjoyment of all our patrons. As a place of business we expect our employees to enforce those rules whether a patron agrees with those rules or not. We do allow empty water bottles to use our water refill station or sealed water bottles only. No other outside food or drinks. That was sure nice of our staff to give you your drinks back when you left. Sneaking, hiding or passing food or drinks into our facility is not allowed and we support our staff on enforcing our rules to those who break them.

Yes it is a great stop, just 11 miles off of the Interstate for a good soak in the hot pools or play in the swimming pools at a separate location, grab a bite to eat or take a walk downtown to check it all out.

My preferred hotel is the Home Hotel which is nearly next door. Great rooms, great staff and within walking distance of nearly everything you'd want access to at this time of year. Granted it is at the opposite end of town from the Olympic swimming pool if you're wanting access to that during the summer months.
The Riverside Inn is okay but I wasn't impressed. They do have good but a little spendy food in the restaurant located in the hotel basement. The breakfast buffet is good.

Has anyone went in June? Was it too hot to enjoy the hot pools?

It's typically hot there in June just like the area! However, it is a bit in the moutain so there is a temp difference between the valley and the moutain.
Your call after the sun goes down, it could be very relaxing in the evening!
I don't know if I plan all day there but there are swimming pools!

Is it too cold to camp there in April?
LavaHotSprings
愛達荷Lava Hot Springs3 則投稿
Some of the campgrounds, such as the KOA, are already open. If you are tent camping, it might still be a little cool. However, a nice long soak in the World Famous Hot Pools is sure to take the chill off. And, this being Idaho, there is no telling what the weather and temperatures will be in April. It can be beautiful Rocky Mountain Springtime or it could snow. sorry I can't be more definitive but, like I said, this is Idaho.
This place sounds amazing! Is it mainly the outside pools/slides that people enjoy so much though? Considering going, but not sure if it is worth it during the winter when only the inside pool is open...thoughts/opinions? Thanks!

Dear Need for Travel,
The World Famous Hot Pools are all outdoors and open throughout the winter. Today, it is below 10 degrees and people are flocking in to enjoy the hot water. the Olympic Swimming Complex is only open in the summer months but the Indoor Aquatic Center is open through the winter. It provides a lot of activities and fun for all ages. There is a combination day pass that is available for both facilities. Take a look at the web cams on our hot pools website and you will see what I mean about people enjoying these wonderful waters all year long. thanks, Mark Lowe
