科莫多島有一個長長的水泥碼頭，要走好一段路才到達遊客中心，曬到個個都嗌救命。
可能天氣實在太熱，個個晌導都不願動，等了好一會才推了一個年青的小夥子出來招呼粗眉仔一行人。
粗眉仔一行人跟着晌導，走到沙灘的另一邊盡頭。
這裏有一間餐廳，有食物自然就有科莫多龍。
再睇清楚，原來餐廳的樓梯底還有兩隻體型比較小的科莫多龍，牠們也是被食物的香味吸引。
粗眉仔揀了中級遠足線路，需時大概一個鐘頭。山路不算陡峭，比林卡島易走。
非常好彩，樹蔭下發現了一頭雌性的科莫多龍，懶洋洋的正在午睡。
科莫多島地勢比較平緩，風景有點普通，不及林卡島。

世界最大蜥蜴 #komododragon
他們是在生物書本、國家地理頻道、動物星球頻道上，如雷貫耳般存在的#科摩多巨蜥 沒想到今日竟能有幸一賭其真身。
雖然有些可惜沒看到#巨蜥 們英姿煥發（？）的打架鬥毆場景，只看到四隻雄性懶洋洋的癱趴在地，有些令人捶胸頓足。還好偶爾還會發發脾氣，張開看起來惡臭異常的血盆大口發出嘶嘶的生氣警告，至少還像是活著的生物。
科摩多巨蜥只生存在 #印尼 的 #科摩多 島附近。成年雄性平均可達2-3公尺，重8-90公斤。科摩多島上目前有兩三千多頭#科摩多龍 他們是#肉食動物 且#食腐 甚至會攻擊蠶食幼小同類。
科摩多巨蜥跑起來十分快速，平常追捕水牛、野鹿和野豬等大小哺乳類維生，也會吃蛇。因唾液細菌太多，攻擊獵物後不會馬上享用，而是等其傷口感染慢慢死亡再大快朵頤。他們每餐可以吃到將近自身體重的食物，食量嚇人。
島上有800多隻體型較小的母龍平均每隻有3-4個配偶。巨蜥的蛋生存率不高，除了偷蛋獵食者外，因產在土裡下過雨後會被泥土壓垮。小巨蜥大多生活在樹上以躲避成蜥的捕食。雖然夭折機會極高，據導遊說科摩多巨蜥可以活至5-60歲，有些驚人。
除了癱軟的獨家巨蜥，科摩多島還有美麗的粉紅沙灘和翠綠的怪奇火山地形，是個觀光資源豐富的島嶼。雖然遊客們無法自行登島上岸，一定得由當地嚮導帶領，以免被巨蜥當成食物拆吃入腹。

島上很美，感覺就像進入了侏羅紀公園。我們都很興奮！我想這都取決於你的導遊有多好（我看到過一些不好的評論）。我們的導遊幽默、友好，雖然走的主道上沒有科莫多龍，但他有辦法讓這變得更好。這時候顯然是交配季節，因此你很難發現它們。我們在接近尾聲的時候看到了3隻科摩多龍，我們認為它們是被附近的餐館所吸引。我不是在抱怨，讓我釋懷的是我還是成功地看到了科摩多龍！

帶着8歲的小朋友，一家三口參加了科莫多島行程，因為是和其他人組團，所以隊伍人數挺多，配了三名嚮導。因為8月份是科莫多龍交配期，比較難看到科莫多龍，但比較幸運，還是看到了一隻野生的科莫多龍建議不要安排在8月份上島。

如果你和來過這兒的人聊聊，可能會對這個地方有點期待。只能在餐館旁邊看到龍，因為他們能聞到食物的味道，這對於我來說似乎有點不真實。能在當地看到這些生物並且能了解學習相關知識很酷，但這和徒步叢林看到這些動物還是不一樣的。然而，你在徒步中看到他們的機會很小。你還需要花30到45分鐘的時間去走一條毫無意義的小路，只能看到一個“科莫多巢”。然而你也可以在碼頭的盡頭看到一個，所有根本沒必要來長途跋涉。總體來說，體驗還不錯，但是我肯定不會再來了。

你必須和嚮導一起去---我們是一個20人的團隊。我們冒雨在密林中徒步，找到7條科莫多龍。路非常泥濘，走完以後我們都渾身是泥。嚮導把我們帶到一個人工的水坑裡，那裡有三條雌龍；然後去了科摩多龍的巢；然後去了另一額人工水坑，我們看到了幾條巨大的雄性龍。博物學家告訴我們一些信息，還給我們提供雨披，但是我們都已經濕透了（主要是我們的汗）。還有兩個拿着棍子（我猜這是他們保護我們的方法）的人一路陪着我們。在徒步旅行的最後，有一家小餐館/酒吧，當地人在帳篷下賣T恤衫和小玩意。很高興我來玩兒了一次...不會再來一次了。

So we are planning a trip to Bali May 17th May 31st, 2025. There is talk that mid-year 2025, of a temporary closing of Komodo Island due to eco/restoration. Is this true? How can I find out if this is true and when exactly before making bookings. Thanks.

No, there is no problem. A local guide will help you, there are 3 routes to see dragons, than can help you to choose which way is better for you. They are really helpful and friendly. You can ask Francisco Franco to help, he is a local guide there

Hello, would you say that we should also visit Komodo Island to see the dragons or is only Rinca Island fine? We found a few trips on the internet, who are only offering trips to Rinca Island but not Komodo Island.

Hi, I am planning to visit Bali for a period of 3 weeks and most probably will spend around 3 days in each place. However, I am thinking about also visiting Komodo island during these 3 weeks. Is it worth visiting given the time it takes to get there? I am thinking of catching a plane to Flores and get a ferry from Flores to Komodo. But is it worth it considering the time it takes?

Is it possible to do day trips out to each individual island? Most of the tours I see online seem to be either a single day trip to all the islands, resulting in only a short time on each, or 3 day tours which require you to sleep on the boat.
Also, are there any cheaper tours that can be booked over there? Most of the ones online are like $200 just for a day

Planned for my own trip and agree that its tough to find a single day trip out to a particular island only but my best guess is that it does not make logistical sense for them to bring you out only to one island hence the packages?
Was comparing between local tour operators online and found a site that compares local provider onground prices - found a One Day one to the key islands for about USD95 last i checked. Site is called Seek Sophie. Maybe they'll be able to link you up with the local operators too to see if they would do single island trips out ? Good luck!

Is it easy to get of a cruise ship and employ a local guide to see the dragons.
The ship prices are so expensive ,they have a captive audience so it seems they can charge what they like. I must admit I object to being ripped off. what do you think.
