Took 10 & 9 yr olds here for a great afternoon. Loved all the exhibits and took in the IMAX and planetarium also. Kids (and Nana) had a great time.

We brought the kids here for a 3D movie feature and were pleasantly surprised at the options available for younger children. We definitely plan on coming back so they can spend some time exploring the museum.

Every time I go in thinking I know what to expect they have several new things set up. Been here 6-7 times over 10 years now and I always take visitors with me. Prices have gone up a bit high but you can see discounts every little bit on groupon and living social.

This is a fantastic science center! My son (6 year old) especially loved the human body area, the outdoor water play area, making a functional paper airplane design and the water channel activity table. He was not bored for a second and we were there for hours. He participated in a wheelchair race, did a digital flight simulation, shot some hoops, learned how his body works from everything from why we sneeze to how blood travels through the body.
Not only is it great for the kids but my Mom and myself had fun too. They have a great gift shop as well and the dinosaur exhibit is coming up that I can't wait to go back to see next time we're in AZ. Next time we plan to spend more time at the "Create" building where you can design and object for a 3D printer and actually print it out. We only took a peek but I think there were robotics and more hands on tech things to do there.
Just a great stop if you're in the Phoenix area.

I went on a Wednesday and there were a lot of field trip groups plus many kids younger than school age. A great place for kids to get a hands-on learning experience, but as a single adult, I didn't get much out of it. I would have liked to get more out of it.

As a former teacher, I can tell you, this is the kind of experience that changes the imagination of a child from text book, to outside the box. Amazing experience and way cheaper than an amusement park.

The only down side to this museum is that you have to pay for parking, which for Phx I guess is expected but it is a deterrent for me buying another membership. They do validate parking but if you actually spend time there you are looking at paying at least $8 in parking even with it validated. It adds up even if you just go once a month. When we do have a membership we add on the Planetarium that way we can enjoy the shows. It has a nice little play area for toddlers on the lower level. My kids favorite part is probably the water and balls outside. There is a neat weather presentation that has small gusts of wind and some light water sprayed at you while showing images of tornadoes/hurricanes/etc.

Great place to take the kids on a hot summer day, and the field trips the kids have gone on have been very educational (for kids and adults).
This place is cool! It's put together well, the kids seem to enjoy the overall experience and the ONLY thing I'd like to see is a nicer restaurant for parents to hang out in while the kids explore. We would stay longer that way. But it is a must-do if you get the chance. Well worth it.

This is a great place to take your children or your grand children. It will provide at minimum two to three hours of entertainment in the way of interactive exhibits along with workshops and demonstrations. My wife and I were fascinated and toured the center for two hours and we’re both in our sixties. We can’t wait till our grandson is old enough to visit. The cost was $15 for seniors and $12 for children (3-17), a very reasonable price for many hours of fun and education.

Ditto. There are exhibits are for older children who can roam around from exhibit to exhibit. But if you have a lot of teacher in you and your 10 month old has inquisitive mind, go for it! You can do the explaining and the 10 month old can do the listening.

Can you take your own food and eat there? If you just want to go to the Planetarium do you have to buy a ticket for the general admission? What's the earliest I can enter?

I am not sure about the food, but as no one looks into your bags I guess you can take a sandwich or so with you.
There is spec ticket for the planetarium no need to by the general one

No free parking but there is a parking garage adjacent to museum. Bring in your ticket and they will redeem a portion of the cost. I think you only end up paying five dollars versus the hourly rate the garage charges. Hope this helps!
Is this good for younger kids like ages 2-5?

Not really. There is plenty of "touchy feely" stuff but and they can't break or hurt any of the exhibits but they may not get anything out of it. But I have 2 boys and they probably would have loved it as they got close to the 5 age. A lot depends on if you are gong to take the time to explain some of the exhibits to them also.
