The reserve is slightly out of the way but is worth the trip. There is lots of game to view and the treehouse cottages are an absolute delight. They are fairly small but have a lovely deck that overlooks a waterhole which you have to yourself.
Roads were good and we really enjoyed the stay, sadly only night.

We had an excellent trip to Mokala National Park. Units were clean and roads were well maintained. It is a park that is not over crowded with visitors. We will visit it again.

A lovely small national park, but some of the facilities need some attention. Pity the restaurant has closed so only option now is self catering, and the "shop" holds so little that if you haven't taken food in with you you have a problem.
Staff are the usual very pleasant and helpful people, always with a smile and very courteous.
Saw lots of animals but the bird hide was a total disappointment with no water in the waterhole.
The road leading to the Mosu gate from N12 is a very poor corrugated disaster. A total car breaker.

Mokala is a beautiful park, with varying nature. We saw many different groups of animals, especially at the waterhole (actually birdhide). There is no restaurant. We rented a house in Lillydale, a beautiful house with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, the campsite only has 6 pitches, but they are beautifully situated, each with its own kitchen.

A wonderful day out close to Kimberley, the park is beautiful, safe, well maintained and has an abundance of animals, including giraffe, buffalo and rhinos as well as many various breeds of buck and antelope.

Mokala is a hidden gem. Lots of general game to see. Units are very clean and staff relatively friendly. Just lots of mud but very relaxing place.

Mokala is a beautiful park- we stayed in Motswedi tree top and it was beautiful - the only thing I would suggest is to maybe have fly screens on the windows or doors so you can leave them open and not be attacked by all the bugs a out next night was at lilydale and that too was beautiful- staff is friendly- really enjoyed our stay

I highly recommend this park. It's a gem. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The chalet was very nice and cozy with a fireplace used almost everyday during our stay. Everything else in the chalet was great, working and clean. The sightings at Mokala National Park were amazing. Keep in mind you are not looking for the big 5 when visiting a park like Mokala but rather focusing on the Shy 5 (Aardvark, Aardwolf, Porcupine, Bat-eared fox and black-footed cat) Of which we had excellent sightings of 3 of them. We were so lucky to see 4 different Aardvark during our 1 night drive. I reckon this is the BEST place in the country to see Aardvark. We even found 1 at 14:30 in the middle of the road. Excellent bat-eared fox and porcupine sightings. We saw African wildcat, Roan antelope, buffalo, sable, and many more, lots of different birds at the bird hide which is an awesome place to spend a couple of hours each day. We had an excellent knowledgeable guide that took us out each night even though it was freezing cold. I think his name was Mandla. Huge shout out and big THANK YOU! I can't wait to go back to Mokala as soon as possible. I sincerely hope the park does not introduce lions.

Parc très photogénique. L'Afrique telle qu'on l'imagine... Même si leq félins sont absents, nous avons pu admirer de nombreux autres animaux. Le camping n'accueille que 6 grands emplacements et il est très confortable (chaque emplacement a ses propres sanitaires et espace cuisine avec frigo). Les springbox se promènent tranquillement près des tentes. Nous avons juste regretté de n'y passer qu'une nuit.

We have been here before - camping, this time we stayed in a chalet at Lilydale (but we knew there were no predators - very easy to find out if you use internet resources....). On the first day, we saw everything on their list (yes they have one, just ask) except steenbok and duiker. Saw almost 100 buffalo at sundown coming to drink at the lookout point less than 5 km away from Lilydale Rest Camp. Many Roan antelope, many zebra, red hartebeest, tsessebe, etc. etc. We knew where to see Rhino but having done so before we gave it a skip since it was becoming dark. So no complaints, but you have to be willing to appreciate something other than the Big Five.
The chalets situated high above the river rapids (really liked hearing the water all night long...soothing) are quite adequate, although I think they can remove the little single bed and rather give me 2 chairs and a table to sit and read/ have drinks by. The wind was howling, we tried to use the seats outside but gave up when it became icy cold as well. Sparsely furnished and provisioned but enough to get by. Wonderful swarthaak wood for the braai (barbecue for non-Africans) to buy at the shop, try it!
Perhaps we were happy because it wasn't our first visit, but we like it - off the beaten track, unpretentious, no traffic jams - if you've been to Kruger you know why I mention it. We will certainly go again.

Hi, we are planning a trip to Mokala National Park during the last week of December 2021 or first week of January 2022. I believe there was / is a Restaurant in Mosa Lodge , is the restaurant fully operational for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner?

2. Is the road from the N12 turnoff to Mosu Lodge accessible for a low sedan?

Both access roads are not very good. Both are gravel roads with lots of bad, really bad corrugations so your sedan will take a hammering.
