We went on a Monday evening and eventually found the bar as it is connected with a restaurant on the 6th floor. There was one other couple in the bar but plenty of other folks in the restaurant. We missed the roulette wheel that other reviews have mentioned but loved the view from the 6th floor of the Bend. The drinks were about what one would pay for nice cocktails in the United States in a major city. The staff was nice and attentive. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a low key enjoyable spot for a nightcap.

The lack of proper signage and the tiny elevators you have to take to get to this place made it inherently special. Then, you get to the bar and are treated by one of two awesome bartenders. Andrew is more than ready to help you decide on the drink you want, and tailor it to your taste. A bit expensive, but worth it for a high class drink. Fun to play with the roulette wheel with friends.

Was excited to check this place out, after reading reviews about this speakeasy. too bad its closed, so I had dinner at the Restaurant instead. Which was fine.

We went at 8 on a Saturday night to take advantage of the free swing class. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fantastic cocktails and cozy environment. The prices were quite reasonable given the location. Looking forward to returning!

2nd visit a few months ago and it is still fun. Lots of young expats and boy, they party till morning ( my young friend came back at 5 am! ). Great location with lovely view. Best to drink and party then dinner....

Library Distillery hits the spot with their amazing drinks and attentive staff. A special shoutout goes out to Carter, for his incredible (almost unbelievable) enthusiasm. The lounge has a great speakeasy-esque atmosphere and the bar staff is more than willing to cater the music to your taste! Speaking of taste, the drinks we ordered were all delicious and if the extensive cocktail list doesn’t satisfy your needs, the bartender Andrew will happily design a drink at your request.
One small recommendation I would make is to improve the furniture by removing the old couches on the left of the lounge to make space for more group-friendly seating.
The lounge also hosts a ladies night every Wednesday that features a happy hour when their amazing cocktails are only 50rmb! The location is somewhat difficult to find but totally worth it!

We were taken to the bar here by a friend who lives in the city after dinner, its a very nice little speakeasy bar with a roulette table available for a little bit of gamble-free fun.
The night was made really by the staff, manager Carter and his barman Andrew made our group feel very welcomed from the moment we stepped in, they helped out with some of our more unusual drink requests (!!) and as we had a birthday celebration amongst us, Carter allowed the birthday boy free reign on the music playlists which made the bar the perfect place to let our evening roll well into the early hours!
Thanks again guys and we'll definitely be back to carry on where we left off...

I love the intimate speakeasy-esque feel of this place. The cocktails are amazing (shout out to the bartender, Andrew) and are definitely worth the price (equiv USD 15-20). The new bar manager (Carter) is really friendly, attentive and provides great service. The dim lighting and comfy couches along the windows make a great space for groups. However, some of the furniture is quite worn and one of the chairs I sat on almost tipped over because the chair leg was broken.
This place is a bit hard to find and its not very widely advertised, so the crowd is pretty light, but I actually prefer that. Hope this place replaces some of the old furniture and makes the seating better for smaller groups to share the couch space. Would love to see this place improve, but continue to maintain the mellow atmosphere.

On the 6th floor of 133 Yuanmeiyuan on the Rockbund lies a gem of a place. Nestled in Light and Salt Restaurant, turn left at the lift and walk down a short passage way, you will be greeted by Rick, a native New Yorker and a master mixologist. If sitting at the bar isn't your cup of tea, head to the 6 leather couches lining the room. Plop yourself down and Rick will not disappoint, conjouring a cocktail that is sure to please. A jazz musician was weaving his magic in the corner when I last stopped in at 10 pm on a Thursday.
A very comfy relaxed intimate setting to bring your special someone. Highly recommended.

This is my favorite bar in Shanghai. The service is amazing and all the staff members are wonderful. The drinks are of amazing quality and the creativity of the drinks are delightful. Also, the speakeasy atmosphere blows me away every time with its rustic and cozy yet sophisticated style. The Library Distillery Lounge has a beautiful vibe that can't be created anywhere else. The people are always great here and the place is absolutely charming. LD lounge is great for a date, a good night out with friends or plainly for a fun time! I highly recommend this bar to ANYONE. Keep it up LD Lounge!
