Honestly just had to run in here to use the bathroom during a run. The security was so nice and led me there even though I was a sweaty mess. Looked super modern and clean in there. The bathroom was the best I've used in the philippines, hahahaha.

This is a set of fairly generic commercial buildings in the centre of Makati. Various shopping malls and places to eat. Nothing to get too excited about. Surprisingly busy when I was there in Feb 2020.

When in the Makati area, Ayala Center is good place to shop, dine and enjoy the vigrant commercial center. It is accessible by bus, taxi and MRT train.

Ayala Centre is basically a merger by a series of walkways and re-building of a variety of what were separate Malls going back many years. There would be no need to go outside or cross a road if you were to walk from Glorieta to the other end Greenbelt. Now that is a distance of about a mile! You would have to go to Milton Keynes in the UK to walk that sort of distance in one Mall. They have also created some common areas where they host special events and presentations. The Malls have every type of outlet and activities for all ages. The usual play areas for children and rocking chairs for use by the elderly. One point there though is that there is not a lot of seating for people just wanting to sit down and have a rest. There are also many food outlets from Food Courts to specific and specialised restaurants. At peak times the whole place gets very busy ( every weekend and public holidays). Opening time is usually 11.00 ( sometimes 10.00) with late closing to 21.00 to 22.00. The whole ambiance is bright and welcoming but now pay attention to a few warnings applicable in any area accommodating so many people. Security on entry is achieved by limiting entry to only one or two doors. If there was an emergency like a fire we can only hope that exit doors would all open to allow escape.Smoke would accumulate rapidly as all areas are open. Be aware of your surroundings and make a note of the nearest exits and if the worse did happen head for the street on the ground. The other issue to note is that a Mall can suddenly be a terrifying place to a lost child. In addition having to find them would not be easy. Don't loose your children. Thankfully Filipinos go out in large family groups and lost children are rare. The Philippines has some of the largest Malls anywhere in the world. This must be one of them and most days they are full with both local and overseas visitors. Prices in the Philippines are very competitive and selection of well known brands outstanding in one place.

AMBIENCE
This is our go-to mall since Glorietta, Greenbelt, Landmark and SM Makati make the place a huge shopping center with many things you might need like groceries, appliances and bill payment centers. We do plenty of meet-ups and food trips at their restaurants, cafes and food courts. Seeing them change through the years, I'm really happy with the work they've done. Save time and go to the concierge for shop locations.
PARKING
Many parking areas are also available but during the weekends and holidays, things do get tricky and patience may be necessary. It's easier to park in the morning but only if you have time to spare.
SERVICE
Guards block parking entrances when they're full but you can tell them you're willing to wait. If not, they usually have specific parking suggestions for your convenience. Concierge staffers are mostly knowledgeable about shop locations and services offered within the area.

If there was one word I'd use to describe anything the Ayala family does, it'd be 'precision.'
They've got the detail of this 'Philippines CBD Central' area correct.
Footpaths (locally called 'sidewalks') are properly paved with easy disabled access and often are wide, lighting is good and shopping centres like Greenbelt (while far from cheapest in Philippines) are logically laid out.
It's good urban design, epitomised by how Greenbelt has a wonderful Catholic Chapel and pleasant greenery with koi fish at its core.

We are planning to do a photoshoot in Ayala Ave and Dela Rosa St, how can we get a permit to do the shoot and how much will it cost?

Ayala Avenue and Dela Rosa Street to not meet at any intersection in Makati. If you are a professional photographer, as I am, (mostly in the United States, so can't answer your question) you would know the regulations for photography on a public street, such as tripods and other semi-permanent equipment, lighting, and blocking public access. I hope you get some good pictures.

I saw Makati commercial center transformed from the the arcade type to what it is now way back 30 years ago because I used to work in the hotel located in the said area . way back then until probably until 2012 or 14 everything seem to me just as good as I percieved it to be I find the place such a happy and wonderful place to just walk around and do some window shopping but when I visited the place this morning I can no longer feel the same feeling of excitement of the place it was such a really different place.i think the planner of the place is out of this world it was such a mess I am really fell sad when I saw the place once again it's was such a totally different place .You can ask other people who frequented this place and I know they will have the same observation just like me.

What can I say Mr. Romeo. Such is the nature of the Beast. Once the Market expands, the developer cannot help but be lured by the opportunity of more leasable space, more outlets, more more more! Hopefully once the various construction sites are finished , Makati Commercial will be more pleasant than it is nowadays.

So is the Hard Rock Cafe permanently closed? If so, is this the only location in Manila?
