I spent a lovely couple of hours chatting amd selecting a rug from Ruth, owner of Tribal Collections-Nomadic Rugs.
Ruth is a NZer and has lived in Turkey for 30 plus years and her collection and knowledge of rugs both personal and for sale is remarkable.
She has Osman there who "shows" the rugs and keeps it all organised.
Once you have selected and purchased you are provided with a certificate of authenticity with the official stamp.
Loved every moment spent with Ruth and Osman...thank you.

COZY SHOP IN CAPPADOCIA

Visiting with Ruth at her shop in Cappadocia was one of the highlights of my visit to Turkey. Sitting on the comfortable sofa with her cat on my lap, I listened to her discuss the provenance of the items in her shop which ultimately led to her finding the perfect runner for my home back "in the states". Her reputation speaks to how she treats her clients and I intend to order from her on-line in the future.

A Beautiful and Friendly Traditional Rug Store - A++++

Tucked away, but worth a visit. We entered, as my wife said, "just to look." Ha; eye-popping appeal with the quality and selection of rugs, pillow cases, table coverings and the sorts.

Met by a very gentle and pleasant person who took the time to show us all we wanted in an unhurried, no push environment - very pleased, and sad to say that many shop owners just do not get it - but these folks do.

Pricing is excellent and we left with the purchase of a hall rug and will now be ordering two more rugs for our home via Internet. We trust Ruth the owner and her staff, the quality is without question and no BS pricing.

Thanks, Ruth. It was a pleasure meeting you and your staff.

carpet heaven

This beautiful store contains the most amazing collection of carpets, kilim and related textiles, a feast for the eyes and a fabulous education in this rich and complex field of art. Ruth's encyclopedic knowledge and generosity in sharing it makes a carpet purchase enjoyable and anxiety-free and a certain joy for life Highly recommended,

Yes!!! You must visit!

We found this place by accident. I had read excellent reviews but we ran out of time on our last night in Goreme. While on our way back from dinner we noticed it was open abs we stopped. We could have spent hours in the shop talking with Ruth and another lady (how I wish I could remember her name) . Ruth was so knowledgeable about rugs, material, history absolutely everything. They were so kind to my daughter and I. I found the perfect pillows for my couch and will definitely be purchasing rugs from here in the future.
This is a must visit!

Beautiful rugs - online

Ruth is just lovely - give her an idea of what you want and she works really hard to find it for you. The rugs are just divine - vibrant and beautiful. We bought two rugs online and she sent lots of photos so we knew what we were getting. Highly recommended

The only rug shop to visit in Turkey

I did a lot of research on rug shops before visiting Turkey and Ruth’s shop is the ONLY one I planned to visit. She was so kind and generous with her time and knowledge, answering our questions and offering advice. It was not the traditional pushy rug sale, it was really enjoyable and educational. I was able to learn a lot and choose items that were authentic and fit my taste. Don’t go anywhere else, this is the only stop you need.

A must visit in Goreme

We have visited Ruth's wonderful Shop on several occasions and have loved learning about the wealth of information she can share about the Nomadic Rugs and Textiles in her collection. We bought a beautiful Kilim Stool from Ruth which we love. She has also provided valuable information on the cleaning and care of our rugs.

THE Place to go for rugs, kilims, carpets in Goreme, Cappadocia!

We bought THE ultimate carpet at TribalCollections (Ruth!) Goreme. What a fantastic store! One learns a lot about rugs, kilims, carpets talking to Ruth who is really an encyclopedia on it! Was an enjoyable experience. Thanks to Osman for lugging our carpet all the way up to our Cave Hotel! This is one place you should never miss if ever you are in Goreme, Cappadocia and looking to buy a carpet or rug!

Wonderful as always

My parents and I first met Ruth in the early 2000s. Last spring during the midst of the pandemic, I worked via email with Ruth to select some kilim cushion covers for the house my husband and I had just moved into. The attached picture are a mix of some I purchased in 2015 during a visit to Turkey and some that were shipped to us during the pandemic. Online ordering was easy and secure, and shipping was fast. But nothing compares to actually visiting her store.
