My son said that this was the best grooming conditions that he had skiied in. So thank you to the groomers at Aspen Mtn for doing a great job. It is a little bit more steeper than Buttermilk resort but when the groomers do a great job the skiing becomes easier.

Fué increible subir en GÓNDOLA a la cima de la montaña, en Aspen, las vistan son preciosas,cuesta 35 dólares, pero al consumir algo en el restaurante de arriba, te hacen un descuento de 10 dólares, una rica ensalada, una limonada y un postre salen en 25, menos los 10, solo pagué 15, mucho ambiente, cierran la montaña a las 16:00 hr, hay que bajar un poco antes

We are good intermediate skiers of an advanced age (75yrs) who felt comfortable skiing the blues at Buttermilk and Snowmass. Not so much at Ajax but we loved riding the gondola and taking in the view. Spectacular. $25/pp and $10 goes to food at the Sundeck. You could take your skiis up and ....seeing the trails, decide to ride the gondola back down ;<)

We absolutely loved this experience of exploring the town of Aspen with great shopping, excellent dining options and boarding the gondola to access the ski slopes from the main street. skiing was fabulous with a wide variety of runs. Would thoroughly recommend a visit here.

I knew I would love Snowmass (and I do!). Ajax, however, took me by surprise. The mountain provides an impressive variety of beautiful otherworldly terrain. The long-lasting top-to-bottom trajectory is followed by a refreshing 14-minute gondola ride to warm-up/cool-down. And how magical is it to have the town of Aspen at your feet? Ajax was especially nice on snowy days with plenty of trees for shelter and the aforementioned gondola to protect from wind and moisture on the return to the top..

I have spent many great days skiing Ajax and really enjoyed it. The best cruiser run in my opinion is Ruthie's which goes from top to bottom and is just lots of fun. There are steeps everywhere and depending the snow conditions they can be thrilling. This is not for Beginners but just fine for Intermediate Skiers and up. Down a the bottom of Ajax are some really good bars and restaurants where the people watching can be great.

My wife and I are In Aspen fro 10 days for the X Games ams skiing. First day of skiing was on Ajax Mountain - awesome

中級者と上級者コース中心のスキー場ですが、
グルーミングがしっかりと施されています。たぶん初級の方でも滑れると思います。
リフトの下は、お店が沢山あって豪華なショッピングから日常生活の必需品が全て揃います。

Can be a little busy and very steep runs. Also can be icy on most of the runs but still fun especially with the great bars down below. Check out the Little Nells bars

Everything great as usual and always. Burgers, tomato soup and grilled cheese. But why oh why will you not bring back that recipe of what was the best baked Mac n Cheese with the bread crumbs . Was it written down and lost? Will be back in February please add it by then. Thank you.

Snowmass for sure. You have both gondolas and chair lifts and a ton of activities!

We are visiting in September and I see that the gondola is only open on weekends then. Are there any activities available on Ajax in September during the weekdays? Can you get up the mountain by car?

In September the gondola is open on weekends (Friday-Sun). Mid-week the only way to enjoy Ajax is by hiking it - I would suggest the Ute Trail or Little Cloud. Otherwise all the action and activities are in town. Enjoy your upcoming visit!

How much is the ride if you are not going to ski?

Unless you are seriously fit and have an hour or more to spare, I wouldn't hike up the mountain. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the top while riding the lift so walking it is not achievable for most, I think.
I can't remember the cost but once you're at the top, there's a casual but fun restaurant with amazing rides and the best snow-shoeing experience (but you need to buy your tickets for this before you get to the top).

How hard are the blue runs on Ajax? I am working on being totally confortable on blues and skiing parallel with good form. I am worried the blues might be too hard for me at Ajax? Super narrow and steep would be intimidating for me. Any Input? Thanks.

Hi Karen, I don’t ski - my other half is the skier.
Your best bet is to Phone a local ski shop, ask for a local who skis and have a discussion with them.
Just about everyone, in most shops are Aussies who live and work there just so they can ski there too.
