Beautiful Waterfall at the end of the trail
The Happy Creek Forest Walk is an accessible boardwalk through an old growth section of the North Cascades. Anyone can do the boardwalk section and enjoy a view of the North Cascades along the creek. Near the back of the boardwalk is a spur trail that leads to a wonderful waterfall about 1.3 miles back. This spur is a more moderate hike, but well worth the effort. It follows the road for a while before heading uphill on Ruby mountain about 600 ft. When we visited in the spring the waterfall was a spectacular set of cascades descending probably 75 feet through a narrow ravine.
