St Patrick's Cathedral in Bunbury is a short walk from hotels in town centre. The building is well lit and very spacious. Modern design with plenty of pews and room for locals and visitors. The only negative is the steepness of the driveway to get to the cathedral when walking up the road to reach the cathedral and when walking back to the hotel. Really need a car if elderly or mobility issues.

This edifice replaced a traditional building which was destroyed by a tornado. It looms over Bunbury looking more like a factory or a power station; only its oddly-proportioned belltower and squat steeple belies its purpose. We went there for a funeral, so the first thing we noticed is that there's hardly any parking. If you can find a spot, the inside is much more attractive and worth a look if you have an hour to kill; you can pray for another tornado.

I attended a Sunday evening good Mass. The building is modern, well laid out inside.
Main feature are the windows. The paintings look like they've been drawn in chalk.
Great views across Bunbury from the grounds.

the mass times are convenient and there are many other times around bunbury. the cathederal should have been facing overlooking bunbury entrance should have been the other side facing east, tho not much could be done about it now.

Perched high above Bunbury the new cathedral is effectively a modern building in the shape of a cathedral. The impressive part, however, is its windows. Not your normal stained glass and more of an art form. Worth a visit if you are passing.

I attended Mass as a visitor. The cathedral is relativley new being built on high ground with views over the city. It replaced the 100 year old cathedral that was damaged in a severe storm. Artworks by Robert Juniper

As part of our trip to Perth, we have incorporated visits to the churches and cathedrals of each region we visited. St Patrick's was a haven for us, a pit-stop for us to just stop and pray and focus back on God.

Visitors to Bunbury should visit the new cathedral, opened 2011. The windows and the altar backdrop by artist the late Robert Juniper are a highlight.

I visited this cathedral several year ago to photograph it, and was highly impressed. Today, passing through Bunbury, I persuaded my family to come with me for a return visit. What a treat! In fact I got quite emotional. St Patrick's sits on a low hill overlooking the town. It is modern, brick, impressive but quite austere on the outside. Inside it is quite uncluttered, but open, spacious, peaceful and worshipful. Its painted windows are a feature, but I also enjoy the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, and the general planning. It is an interesting question: if you are going to design and build a modern cathedral, how do you do it? This cathedral is a fine example. Car parking is available right next door to the cathedral, which has easy wheelchair access.

Overlooking the central CBD of Bunbury is the relatively new Catholic Cathedral inviting the visitor to 'come take a look'!
It is an impressive, contemporary designed landmark that is well worth a visit.
Unexpected hills, narrow winding roads to the cathedral would make access by caravans improbable. We walked easily into the main areas of the cathedral - the modern, sedate designs of the huge windows inside were not what we expected!
I was disappointed! My personal preference is the traditional 'Stained Glass!
Still, such an surprising modern Cathedral with its impressive artitecture in a seaside country City is unusual and unique. Well worth the challenges of finding your way to it!!!
