I am planning a day trip to Bunya Mountains QLD and just wondering if anyone can tell me some good stops along the way via Kingaroy route for morning tea and buying fresh fruit and veg from farmers. Thanks Liz.

The other option is to camp at the small private camp ground at the (township) and they would be able to tell you how busy they were at you required time.
Hi Trip Advisor community,
My Fiancee' and I are planing a little getaway to the Bunya NP.
Can anyone suggest some romantic accommodation? Also, besides the fantastic nature walks, are there restaurants or pubs to eat at and any shops of local produce?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My son, some friends and family have been going to Bunya Mtns for over 13 years on and off. This year we return after a break of 3 years due to an illness. We go in winter time and it is cosy and less chance of snakes etc. but you must check each other for ticks - that could be romantic 😍
As to romantic places this may be a challenge but it depends on whether you want a valley view or a Forrest view. There are two gated areas where you can stay and the first one we like because it is closer to the narrow lane/road down to the walking areas. The homes in there I could recommend are Grasstrees, Mountain Romance (very large), Misty and Kookaburra Cottage. There are new ones in this allotted area which we have not tried. In the second estate I could recommend Jacky Winter, Bunya Paradise (views) and friends have stayed in Eagle Outlook as well. Many of the houses are built for a large number of guests and some of the smaller ones may not have any outlook.
Places to eat - I think there is still only one cafe/restaurant that used to be quite expensive down near the store. You could go for lunch or dinner and I'm not sure if they are doing wine tasting anymore. There are tearooms at the top of the entrance road which used to make lovely biscuits and scones using some bush ingredients such as lemon myrtle. It also sells local craft. There are no pubs or any such thing and I think the corner pub in Maidenwell would be the closest about 20-30 minutes drive. Make sure you purchase your alcohol prior and if you decide to eat in the butcher in Yarraman, which is in a little side street is great. We usually buy great steak, sausages, lamb and bacon for our stay. There is also a big IGA there and you will need to buy your cheese, crackers, pate etc for your romantic getaway.
Also, there is a gentleman who used to and I'm not sure if he still does, has Clydesdales and a cart and he does different ride packages. Favourites have been the Billy tea and damper ride through the Forrest and the Sunset Tour with Billy Tea and Damper followed by stargazing and spotlighting. The damper is good and the stars are magical being so far away from the city lights. There are wallabies, lorikeets and parrots and if your lucky they may visit near by for food, however, there are more found in the first estate. It just depends how much you like to have animals around.
We are back this year for 4 or 5 nights staying in Aliana which will be a new one for us.
I hope you enjoy your getaway and return in the future with your children.
Hoping this helps,
