Could not make it. Our flight to Oslo OLY got pushed out to arrive at 9:00 am the following day. Therefore, I cancelled my planned trip to the museum from the airport because the museum opens at 12:00pm . Unfortunately, I decided not to go the next day because the return trip from Oslo city centre would have been too expensive and not worth the cost.

This is a very fine aircraft museum including wellknown and famous aeroplanes from ww 2.
The members of this museum are doing wonderful work.

This was one of best aviation museums l have ever visited. Facilities for all and welcoming museum staff and polite too. The aircraft were positioned beautifully and tastefully and the building was very clean and well-maintained. Families welcomed and it is safe for minors to walk around obviously with parent supervision and certain aircraft are available to try the cockpit out for size. Reasonable admission price and l thought you got a lot for your money. The museum holds some original wartime aircraft recovered by the museum and have restored them to a fantastic condition for display.

A fantastic collection of well preserved aircraft presented in an uncluttered way. Easily reached from the main international airport using a hotel shuttle bus. Our flight had been cancelled and we had an extra 24 hours in Norway. Finding this on the doorstep was a fantastic bonus

The Northrop N-3PB was the fastest floatplane in the world when bought by 🇳🇴 Norway. Unfortunately they never got there, because the war started just as they were to be delivered. So a group of Norwegians operated them from Iceland 🇮🇸 instead..and were an unmissable part of the "battle for the Atlantic".

My brother is a pilot and a WWII airplane fanatic. I am a long distance hiker. He took a walk with me on the St Olaf’s Way from Oslo to Nardos (Trondheim) and I took him to the air museum. He loved it and stayed for hours talking with the staff. It is really easy to get there - buy the ticket to the Oslo airport on the regular train - about $5. That ticket is also good for the bus once you arrive at the airport. When you get to the airport go inside to the bus terminal section and ask at information. They will tell you which bus to take and which platform to wait at. Tell the driver where you are going. He will drop you off at a little green hut in the middle of nowhere. Take the trail that goes up over the freeway and when you come down on the other side, immediately are a sharp right. That will take you over to a parking lot and you will see a plane outside painted like a tiger.
Several families were there with their children and the kids were h in lots of fun looking at the planes. They have three planes that no other museum has and all of th planes have been lovingly renovated. The guides really know all about the airplanes and will take you around and explain each one if you want them to.
You will then need another unstamped $5 rail and bus ticket to get back on that same bus to the airport and then take the regular train back to Oslo central.
Don’t be intimidated....it is easy to do. The tourist office at the central station will sell you the untime-stamped tickets that you can use anytime you want. The time starts running when you take your first trip. If you buy the ticket from the machine, the time starts immediately! They can be used for an hour and a half.
Good luck ... It is a fun excursion.
That same brother taught me all the names of wild ducks when I was 12 and I still remember most of them at 68! You must go for your own pleasure or to please someone you love who loves airplanes!

Flysamlingen er et unikt og interessant sted for å gjennomføre konferanse/ seminar. Man har mulighet for å ordne med servering for ca 100 personer. Dette kan gjøres i kombinasjon med omvisning og historisk vandring blant alle de flotte klenodiene. Ansatte er veldig fleksible og behjelpelige med å organisere slike besøk. Stedet er også perfekt hvis du har tid til overs når du venter på en flyavgang. Ta med deg familien og få litt historisk påfyll eller book møtet ditt her i disse spesielle omgivelsene.

Var der som besteforeldre med to seksåringer. Som flytog krigshistorisk interessert fant jeg den svært interessant. Men fant ut at våre seksåringer ikke helt lot seg engasjere.

Her burde alle med barn gå på besøk. Det er ett fantastisk museum med mange flotte fly. Historiske fly med en god del historie fra andre verdenskrig. Folkene som jobbe der svarer villig på spørsmål og er veldig hyggelige. Kan være litt vanskelig å finne frem dit, men absolutt verdt ett besøk.

Besøkte plassen ifm et arrangement gjennom jobb utenfor stedets normale åpningstider. Er en fantastisk ustilling med fly og materiell fra mange forskjellige tidsepoker. Ble virkelig positivt overrasket over utstillingen.
