Just love everything about this company, the communication is out of this world and friendliness and attention to detail at a different level to anything we had experienced before. We chose to do a multi-country trip for my son's 21st birthday spanning Helskini, Stockholm, Oslo, Flam and Bergen and what a treat they were.
The itinerary for each leg of our trip was faultless, the tickets perfect but the thing that we were most impressed with was the quality of the hotels and the breakfasts, every single place we stayed top notch.
One really special thing that happened that is worth noting is that our Fjord trip was cancelled due to the Fjord freezing solid. AS were on top of this before I even realised, had rebooked us with alternative transport, refunded the difference and helped us book on another Bergen trip with an hour. Just stunning and amazing attention to detail.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, we will be back to Scandinavia and we will 100% use AS again.

This is our second tour with Authentic Scandinavia and it won’t be the last! We decided to visit Rovaniemi to visit Santa Claus after seeing the tour on Instagram. It included three nights in a lovely hotel next to a lake that you can try to see the northern lights. Pure Lapland runs their tours from the hotel which made it super convenient. We did the husky tour and northern lights tour. Both were so well run, I can’t express how happy we were and how much fun we had! It was truly a great experience. AS always has such good hotels and vendors that they work with. I wouldn’t have been able to find them by myself. Also, being budget minded, I loved that the cost of the tour was actually cheaper than if I tried to book it myself.

We recently traveled to Helsinki, Tallinn, Stockholm & Copenhagen and the self-guided trip was arranged by Authentic Scandinavia. We cannot thank them enough for the fantastic arrangements! The hotels booked by AS were superb and we had a very comfortable stay. They were close to the City Center and that helped a lot. Arranging inter-country transport by ferry, cruise and train was also seamlessly done by team AS. The sightseeing & food recommendations given were useful in shortlisting and finalizing our itinerary and planning each day optimally.
The travel arrangements were nicely organized and there were absolutely no glitches whatsoever. Full marks to team AS! We are glad with our decision to entrust AS to plan our trip and I am sure this won't be the last time. I highly recommended Authentic Scandinavia to those who are planning to visit Nordic & Baltic countries.

We went on the guided hiking trip called "Oslo Forest Hiking with Fjord View" and had a wonderful experience. Our guide was Terje, an experienced local guide, very kind, energetic and knowledgeable about the place. We took the metro from Oslo Central Station to Frognerseteren, a 40-minute ascending trip. From the top, we had a nice view of the city. The hike was mostly on trails and gravel roads with spectacular views of forests, rivlets, and parts of the city, culminating in the view of the Oslo fjord from the top. Terje is an amazing human being who not only shared with us details about the place's history, geography, and local traditions but also went out of his way to help my friend enjoy the trip despite his advanced age. We highly recommend this tour with Terje to anyone who loves nature.

The perfect way to do a tour for us - Just nominate where you want to go and for how long and the team takes care of the rest and the days are yours to fill in as you see fit. All travel and accommodation bookings worked perfectly. Highly recommend if you don't want to be locked into detailed prearranged tour locations and times.

We combined 2 Authentic Scandinavia tours (Norway Fjords with Hurtigruten Cruise & Three Capitals) and AS made the entire process seamless! Very detailed itinerary, so every aspect of our tour was well thought out and so went smoothly. The staff was very responsive in answering our many questions and making reasonable suggestions to enhance the trip. Every hotel was perfect and the extra experiences/tours we booked were wonderful as well. Thank you!

Despite I booked my self-guided tour to Norway one month in advance, Authentic Scandinavia was able to confirm it in less than 48 hours.
Just one week later, I have received by e-mail a detailed itinerary and all the tickets I needed. The itinerary was super-detailed and included restaurant suggestions in Oslo and Bergen, how to reach Oslo and Bergen city centers from the airports (and vice versa), a list of recommended activities and museums in the cities and towns I have visited, how to reach hotels/stations/quays, and more.
My journey was amazing and I was impressed by both the quality of services and the beauty of Norwegian cities and nature.
All the hotels were centrally-located (very close to both the city centers and the stations/quays where I arrived and departed) and had a good breakfast buffet. The rooms were clean and had all I needed.
The means of transportation were punctual, clean, and comfortable.
All the people I have spoke to (hotel staff, guides, etc.) were kind and professional.
Considering the prices in Norway, I believe Authentic Scandinavia offers good value for money.
My self-guided tour was a good compromise between the typical guided tour (they booked the hotels, purchased train and ferry tickets, and shared a detailed itinerary with recommended activities) and the trips I plan on my own (I choose which attractions/museums/experiences see and do, without being forced to follow a guide and a group of tourists)

Just returned from an amazing trip to Norway! Having never been to this beautiful country before, we utilized Authentic Scandinavia to plan our trip. We chose the Fjords and Hurtigruten itinerary which allowed us to visit several areas in southern Norway. It was so easy to navigate our days knowing that the timetable, tickets and reservations were all taken care of for us. We also enjoyed the flexibility to explore on our own without being part of a large tour group.
Communication was always clear and prompt, both by phone and by email.
If traveling with a group it would be best to ask for rooms and seats to be together as this was a bit disappointing at times. All in all not a big deal in the grand scheme of an amazing vacation!

With regards to your comments about the hotel rooms and train tickets I would like to provide some additional information. If a booking includes more than one room or multiple seats on a train, they are always booked together so that the suppliers are informed that you are travelling together.
Most times the hotel rooms are located close to each other, but this cannot always be guaranteed (especially not if the rooms are in different categories (e.g. triple, double or single room in the same booking). I would recommend asking for rooms close by when checking in as well. We will however send a reminder to the hotels we work with to keep this in mind.
As for the trains the seats are assigned automatically by the train companies' booking system based on "best available seats" for the number of travellers in each booking at the time of booking. Regrettably, this is therefore not something that we can influence.

Wanted to see a good portion of Norway in a short period of time and found that Authentic Scandinavia had a great selection of very detailed and diverse itineraries to choose from that didn't break the bank. We chose the “Fjords & Hurtigruten” itinerary which took us to the 3 major cities over the course of 9 days with a variety of excursions along the way. They were super easy to book through and they did all the hard work to make the trip as seamless and smooth as possible. My parents and I enjoyed the trip and felt we left Norway having seen a great portion of the country through amazing experiences.
Things I would have done differently on my end now that the trip is over. This was my first cruise experience and was concerned about how I would fair on the hurtigruten portion of the trip. It ended up being my favorite part and i would love to do another trip up the whole coast and over to Svalbard. I also would have picked an itinerary that had more nature and less city. This itinerary had essentially 2 full days in Oslo, which was my least favorite part of the trip (though still very fun, just a different vibe).
Things I wish Authentic Scandinavia would take into consideration when planning trips:
While most of the trip was flawless and I really had no real complaints, I do feel there is always room for critique. As we were a traveling group of 3, me being a singleton and my parents being a couple, we did request 2 rooms in all hotels and obviously 3 seats for all transportation. The rooms were never really an issue and when it was it was often just the hotel not having rooms near each other available. The train tickets though were my only irk. We had 3 seat assigned train rides, only one of them were we seated truly together. The other two there was two sitting together with the third in a row behind. As we were traveling as a family, it would have been nice to be seated together, but again, this was not a crisis and honestly at least we were in the same area. It just seemed like something that they may have overlooked. Granted they knew we were three adults but I did often think what if it was 2 adults and a younger child, would they have been seated together? Perhaps it was also a similar thing to the hotels, where maybe there simply were not seats available that fit these needs. Regardless, though that would have made this a truly perfect trip, it is hardly a complaint and more of a suggestion that I’m sure they already take into consideration!
If I return to Norway, or venture to Sweden, Finland or Denmark in the future I will for sure be using Authentic Scandinavia to plan my trip and I will be looking for companies similar to it for future travel elsewhere!

There is also very few seats in each compartment where 3-4 persons can sit together around a table; most seats are two and two seats in two rows. The advantage of train travel is however that you can move more around by swapping seats and perhaps sitting together in the restaurant train should this be free.

We went from Oslo to Bergen but jumped off and took the Flåmsbanan to Flåm. We are sooo happy. Great hotel bookings near the train stations and descriptions around the different destinations were really helpful. Will definitely hire you again!!! Thank you!!!

hi there Im planning to visit in July and would like to ask how to go about the 3 city tours, we plan to start and fly in from manila to oslo , then sweden and then helsinki where we will then get our flight back to manila.
If we get the 3 city tour, is there someone who will meet us at the airport in oslo upon arrival? or we get instructions from your company on how to go to hotel etc? would love to hear from you . thanks!

Dear Flormir, thanks a lot for your message and interest in travelling with Authentic Scandinavia.
Our Three Capitals tour includes Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki. This is a so-called independent tour where you travel on your own, guided by our detailed travel documents. These include instructions on how to get from the airport to the city, how to find your hotel, etc. More information about this tour type can be found on our website under travel info => booking a tour => about self guided tours (TripAdvisor does unfortunately not allow me to include links...).
No one from Authentic Scandinavia will meet you at the airport. If you prefer being met instead of taking the train, you can book a private transfer though; the driver would then wait for you in the arrivals hall. We are available 24/7 though by phone should you require any assistance.
