Ho visitato questo museo e l' ho trovato molto interessante, anche mio figlio è stato dello stesso parere. È presente uno shop secondo il mio parere i prezzi un po' alti. Nell'insieme una bella esperienza.

Museum all in all interesting, but absolutely not in line with today's standards. Let's start from the fact that the staff was on strike... Sunday in July with concert in the evening by Taylor Swift, I leave you only to imagine the number of foreign tourists who wanted to enter, and were trying to find information... you could book exclusively on vivatiket with a fairly complicated process. Not only that, of course in addition to being clearly all very dated there is no bar, a distributor or a fountain to drink water, which with the heat of these days is not pleasant, not only, the few assistants present, absolutely piqued and uncooperative, to the request we reply that inside a museum you can not drink... and nothing... after visiting (and I have also drunk) museums all over the world I discover this novelty... in museums you have to die of thirst with 35 degrees and totally ineffective air conditioning... forget the broken windows, 70s signs, embarrassing toilet cleaning....

Located in the Montanelli park in the centre of Milan, the museum is also easily accessible by metro. Inside rich exhibitions of minerals, fossils and animal skeletons.

We returned as parents with our son on a free visit and I found a museum that lived up to expectations, ancient but in step with the times where you can dive into a world of knowledge, there is a lack of interactive experiences but in my opinion it's better this way, if you want to try an augmented reality experience just plan a guided tour as a group, which we will definitely do later

After many years we managed to visit this museum.
He taught a lot to the adults but also to the 6 year old boy who was with us.
At the end, tired but satisfied, we felt privileged to have had this experience.
The ground floor, first and second floors require a visit lasting a minimum of 1 and a half hours, we spent 2 and a half and in the end we even went quickly.

Rarely, and only in the major European metropolises and in some of the extra-European ones, have I seen a natural science museum as captivating as the one in Milan.
I have been visiting it for decades, since I was a child, then I brought my children, then my grandchildren, and I have always seen it improve. It doesn't boast phantasmagorical special effects, but serious and competent information, accompanied by spectacular iconographic apparatus (photos, footages, taxidermy reproductions, dioramas...). The mineralogical section is magical, the paleontological and paleoanthropological ones are fascinating, the dioramas of the greatest natural parks in the world are engaging.
The oldest sections of the museum, the taxidermy ones (i.e. stuffed animals) have also been renovated in recent years, so they don't present that retro appearance that they risk having: this is first and foremost a museum of natural sciences, and not of history of these sciences.
Another meritorious aspect of the museum is that it appears to carry out an intense educational activity with schools.
Last but not least: the moderate cost of the entrance ticket: 5 euros, which is further reduced for elderly people and zero for children.

The museum has pros and cons. It is generally split into two main levels. The level with the dinosaurs is very dated. Really poor. However, the level with the animal dioramas is very impressive and well put together.
However, note the main negative point to this museum is that they dont cater for tourists!! Unfortunately, practically all the information is only in Italian! Sometimes the "summary" of an exhibit can be found in English also, but then all the other information about that exhibit is in italian only.
(Also they just added a brand new human evolution exhibit and even this is 100% italian, with zero English or any other language options!!.) This is probably the only significant museum in a major city that I have seen that don't have other language options for tourists / non active speakers.

We were at the Epiphany in this museum which really amazed us: at the beginning there were many insects cataloged and exhibited in an exemplary way, capable of interesting even us who are certainly not fans of insects. Then minerals which are also very beautiful and very well exposed. In my opinion, the dinosaur and animal sections are truly unmissable, I had never seen such a beautiful and realistic museum, it felt like being in the film "Night at the Museum". Definitely top for families with children, but also for adults who are passionate about nature and animals.

Very broad. Perhaps the part about the history of the earth is more interesting, while the part dedicated to animals certainly appeals more to children together with that on dinosaurs obviously.

Buongiorno, ho letto fra le risposte che i cani non possono entrare, ma è datato 2017... È ancora così? Perché su un altro sito dedicato a portare i cani in vacanza, c'era scritto che l'ingresso era consentito. Grazie.

few questions as we will have a couple of hours in Milano before taking our train and seems ideal to spend them there with the children.
a) Does the museum has a facility to leave our luggage at the lobby (classic cabin lagguages) ?
b) how easy is to find a taxi on the nearby taxi stations on a friday morning to take us shortly back to the station ?

Buongiorno, ho visto dalle recensioni che la visita al museo può durare parecchie ore. Vi chiedo se entrando verso le 11,00, è possibile uscire verso le13,00 per pranzare e poi rientrare per continuare la visita? Grazie

La durata della visita di un museo dipende dall’interesse personale-se una persona legge tutto ci sta un giorno intero, se no anche mezz’ora. Per poter rientrare dopo pranzo deve chiedere in biglietteria
