Imposing and majestic Cathedral in which we entered several times even at Mass, since it rained a lot that day; it must be visited entirely because it contains paintings and statues really noteworthy. It is located a few meters from the entrance of the excavations.

Aw inspiring. This church is a fraction of the size of the Vatican and still tremendous and beautiful art. Every time I visit it is a supernatural and moving experience. Thankful that I am able to experience with my family. Women need to cover their shoulders with a shawl or other similar covering. We eat gelato nearby at En Vivo, visit the Pompeii ruins and can park at any of the convenient lots, for me usually by the children’s amusement rides, there is a lot with a self pay kiosk option when leaving. McDonald’s here as well.

This cathedral is worth a visit. This extraordinary shrine of Pompeii, dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the Rosary, is one of the top 10 places of pilgrimage in Europe. I went there and was surprised to discover a wonder. The icon of the Virgin of the Rosary captures the hearts of pilgrims as soon as they enter the church. What a beauty! Many miracles are attributed to the intercession of Our Lady of Pompeii.

Majestic, with wonderful frescoes. Magical place where, fortunately, we also witnessed a wedding. Place where you breathe spirituality and joy. Little advice, I bought a wonderful crown, and then I went to church to ask for its blessing. If you want to ask your mother for protection and blessing, this is the right place 💖

The idea of coming to Pompeii came from the fact that for years my grandmother has followed the rosary on TV2000 which is often broadcast from Pompeii. The sanctuary itself is mammoth and was built thanks to the spontaneous offerings of faithful from all over the world. Its construction began on 8 May 1876 through the collection of the offering of a penny a month promoted by Countess Marianna Farnararo de Fusco and her husband Bartolo Longo, who placed the monument dedicated to him in the square in front of the sanctuary. In honor of the Virgin of the Holy Rosary, Blessed Bartolo Longo composed a prayer of supplication, approved by the ecclesiastical authority known throughout the Church. It all revolves around a painting of little value but great significance to which many miracles are attributed. Madonna who unusually hands the crown to Saint Rose rather than to Saint Catherine of Siena as Dominican tradition dictates. The sanctuary is visited by millions of tourists from all over the world and is often visited by the Pope. A place of prayer and gathering especially if done on a cold January day.

That of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Holy Rosary is one of the most important sanctuaries in Italy. A Catholic place of worship that attracts millions of pilgrims from all over the world to Pompeii every year to ask for the intercession of the Virgin Mary.
The object of this devotion is a painting of modest workmanship, but nevertheless capable of performing countless miracles, as evidenced by the hundreds of votive offerings left on the walls of the corridors of this building.
Even the most skeptical cannot remain indifferent to the fact that the sanctuary is truly a place of great beauty and spirituality.

Per l'ingresso al Santuario ci sono limitazioni riguardo all'abbigliamento indossato? In particolare gli uomini possono entrare con i bermuda?

Le donne devono entrare coprendosi le spalle (se sono scoperte) e non con minigonne molto corte o pantaloncini mini short. Gli uomini in bermuda possono entrare (l'importante è non avere pantaloncini molto corti) ed avere delle polo o delle T-shirt.

Ciao! Ho letto che il Santuario dal lunedì al venerdì è aperto solo la mattina fino alle 14. È proprio così? La salita al campanile è possibile anche solo la mattina? Grazie!

Ciao, che io sappia il Santuario è chiuso solamente dalle 14 alle 15 dal lunedì al venerdì.

Feriale: dalle ore 8.00 alle ore 20.00.
Prefestivo e festivo: dalle ore 8.00 alle ore 22.00

Salve vorrei sapere se per salire sul campanile c'è bisogno di pagare qualcosa? E cmq deve
essere organizzata o posso presentarmi li senza avviso e richiedere di salire sul campanile ?

Salve si paga 2 €, puoi andare senza prenotazione, ovviamente la visita è possibile solo nelle ore in cui c'è luce naturale.

Andando a visitare in mattinata gli scavi partendo da Napoli e prendendo la Circumvesuviana Napoli Salerno, come posso nel pomeriggio dagli scavi arrivare al Santuario? Ci sono bus? E da lì come faccio ritorno a Napoli? Grazie mille

Buongiorno, dagli scavi, se esce dalla parte dell’anfiteatro, può raggiungere il Santuario a piedi, è vicinissimo. Se esce dalla villa dei Misteri, a piedi è un po’ lunga, ma gli addetti all’ingresso le possono chiamare un taxi, il costo è al massimo 10 euro. Buona visita e buon pellegrinaggio:-)

Buonasera. Vorrei chiedere un'informazione. a breve accompagnerò una persona anziana al Santuario. Volevo sapere se la distanza da un'eventuale parcheggio al Santuario è parecchia. E se, appunto, c'è qualche parcheggio nelle immediate vicinanze. O ancora, se c'è la possibilità di lasciare la persona all'ingresso del Santuario e quindi andare a parcheggiare. Fin dove si può arrivare con l'auto?

Salve, volevo chiedere un pò di informazioni: 1)il Santuario è visitabile gratuitamente? 2)quali sono gli orari di apertura/chiusura(e se ci sono eventuali giorni in cui rimane chiuso) 3)Sul campanile è possibile salire?

In ogni caso non è prevista alcuna quota d'ingresso. La Basilica è aperta, nei giorni feriali, dalle 7 fino alle 19, mentre nei giorni festivi dalle 6 alle 20. Il Campanile si può visitare negli orari di apertura, ovvero 9-13 e 15-19 nei giorni feriali, mentre dalle 8 alle 13 e dalle 15 alle 20 nei giorni festivi.

Hello I have been to Naples on many occations on Cruises i have a strong faith and have read about this shrine,, is it easy to get to I have been to Pompeii by train,, I would be gratefull of your advice as i'm heading to Naples again in 2 weeks

You can take the Circumvesuviana to Pompei Scavi and then either walk 20 minutes into town or you take a taxi from the Circumvesuviana into Pompei town. I think the fare is about 10 Euro but check with the driver before getting in the cab.
There is a local bus that leaves at the bottom of the hill from the station, but you may need to buy a ticket in advance from a shop nearby.
The alternative is the train from Naples railway station to Salerno, which stops at the Pompei town station which is a 2 minute walk to the sanctuary.
This summer the trains were running every 30 minutes. Just make sure the train stops in Pompei.
The sanctuary is well worth a visit and if you want to stay overnight there is a pilgrims hostel right across the square from the church.
