Absolutely all encompassing!
Want to feel “not so smart” for a day?
Do this tour and be lucky enough to get David as your Guide. More than a guide, he is an educator and has the book writing, Oxford and thesis to back it up.
This tour had special meaning for me as my Dad landed on Utah Beach 80 years ago. As David pointed out, he was fortunate to “draw a long straw”. Hence, I am here.
We went to ALL the MEANINGFUL sites and David was non stop with providing details. It was a challenge to keep up and retain.
We were fortunate to get great weather as well.
God bless the Allied Forces. They saved the world.

My wife and i had a scheduled tour last week that we were una to attend due to a death of long time friend of mine.
Overlord people were extremely compassionate and responsive when i explained our situatiion and refunded us our money even though we were way past the deadline they have. it was kind gesture and the way they responded was so thought.
i hope we are able to retuen soon and thank them in person.

Our tour was Oct. 3. Our guide, Remy, did a wonderful job. He was passionate, personable and informative. He effectively explained the big picture of the invasion, as well as sharing many pertinent stories of individuals. The tour was a highlight of our trip to Europe.

We were traveling with three other couples and this was the last day of our wonderful vacation. The eight of us were picked up at Les Chambres de Capucine in Carcagny (also an EXCELLENT place to stay) by our Overlord Tour guide, Remy. The day long tour of Omaha and Utah Beaches and the surrounding area was beyond excellent, superb! Remy made the day come alive with his professional and passionate presentation of the history of D-Day, the events to follow and how it impacted the people of Normandy and beyond. He took great care to ensure that we were able to reflect on the history while also keeping the tour on track. He made reservations for our group for lunch at Les Cremaillere which was an excellent atmosphere with very good food options and prompt, friendly service. Wow, what a marvelous day and experience. Everyone in our group will highly recommend Overlord Tours and you will be especially blessed if Remy is your guide.

We opted for a private tour guide for my husband and I….AMAZING. Valentine was so knowledgeable and his personality was great….we spent the day in an immersive course but laughed and enjoyed ourselves the entire time. I absolutely recommend Overlord Tours - we did a group tour 5 years ago and now a private tour and both were better than anticipated.

This tour was fantastic. My wife and I are huge WW2 history buffs and the tour and information we received was very accurate. Our guide, Adam, was knowledgeable and funny. We had an incident right at the beginning of the tour where a local farmer blew out one of the windows of the bus, and Adam acted like it happens every day for him. He continued with his discussion on Omaha beach, let us walk around for a while, then led us on foot up to the American cemetery. He told us he would leave us to explore for an hour while he picked up a new van. He had it down to the minute, and exactly an hour later he was pulling up to continue on to Pointe Du Hoc.
Great tour, would 100% recommend Overlord tours to someone looking for a WW2 battlefield tour group in Normandy.

GREAT TOUR - highly recommend. Guide was very knowledgeable and was very clear and effective in his communication. The day was very surreal and at some moments you were taken aback by imagining what it was like while scanning over the beaches.

A tour is the way to see the D-Day sites. This tour was good. Only negative - sitting in the back of an 8 person van - hard to hear/understand/see at times because of van noise.

We had a great day with Antion, fantastic content and great Band of Brothers insights. We visited many of the sites that easy company called home for a night. Saw where they took down enemy gun installments. got a more realistic understanding of how many other great less publicized feats of bravery added to the overall success of operation Overloard

My grandpa landed on Utah so this was a really personal trip for us, and I can't say enough great things about this tour. Our tour guide Ollie was kind, funny, incredibly knowledgeable and easy going. Overlord Tour made our trip really special.

We will arrive in Cherbourg via cruise on May 2, 2023. We are scheduled to be in port from Noon until 7:30PM (19:30). Do you run tours to Omaha Beach & American cemetery from Cherbourg? Our cruise ship docks in La Havre on May 8. There are 4 of us (2 couples) from the USA and would like to arrange a private tour of Normandy -- D-day landing, Omaha beach, US cemetery & related sites. We would expect this to be a full day tour with pick-up & drop off at the ship. Please let us know the options & related costs, and any other suggestions (do's & don'ts) that you have.

I am planning to arrive in Caen in the overnight ferry getting in at 6:45. I am hoping this will give us plenty of time to get to Bayeux for an 8:20 start.

Hi, it is around a 45min taxi ride from the ferry terminal in Caen to our meeting point in Bayeux.
If you opt to join a Group tour and you are late the group will leave without you. You could opt for a Private tour - if you are late the guide will wait for you.

Hi! I am interested in the private tour of the D day beached in mid-April 2020. My father wants to follow the specific path my grandfather took when fighting in WW2. He landed on Omaha beach, traveled to Saint Lo, then to Mortain (My father has the specific spots my grandfather wrote about being in). Would this be a possible path for the private tour or do we need to stay at the D day beaches? I believe Mortain is about 1.5 hours drive from Bayeux. Please let me know

We are arriving on a cruise in LeHavre on 9/19/19. There are 2 couples traveling together. We are interested in a private tour including WWII/D day sites. What do you suggest and what would the cost be. We are overnight in LeHavre so we don’t really have a time restriction. Thank you. Linda kane

Linda, contact Overlord Tours directly. I can't say enough positive about their preparation and depth of knowledge about the D-Day sites. They will give you pricing and details of what they can do to tailor a tour for you. We saw Omaha/Utah beaches, the American Cemetery, and Ste-Mere-Eglise. We were also docked overnight at the cruise port in LeHavre, so it is a long day (8 am - 5 pm) but SO worth it! Enjoy ...

Does anyone know a good website for the train schedules between Paris and Bayeux? The earliest train I see gets in around 10am which makes the full day private tour difficult if your staying in Paris...thanks!

If you’re just interested in seeing Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the American cemetery, the half day tour is adequate. If you also want to see Utah Beach and St. Mere Eglise you’ll need to stay overnight in Bayeux and take a full day tour.
