I just returned from a week diving with Reef Divers on Cayman Brac. Had the best time ever. I absolutely loved valet diving, all I had to do was go to the back of the boat, put on my mask and fins and my tank/bcd would be brought to me. Rozie, Jon and Stephen were amazing and extremely helpful with safety always being their main priority. We had a few dives in which the water was extremely choppy and getting back onto the boat was challenging. Rozie was quick to point out to me the best way to do this to avoid injury and I was extremely grateful. I can’t wait for my next vacation with Reef Divers.

We are always happy when we dive with Reef Divers on Little Cayman and our last dive did not disappoint! The staff is ALWAYS professional, helpful and conscientious plus last Saturday, we had the added pleasure of diving with Maggi who works for the resort and is super friendly and upbeat. The Mixing Bowl dive site is absolutely beautiful, too bad you can’t stay down there all day!

Its funny how a great trip can get wrecked by ONE individual on the last day of a vacation.
The resort, food and bar were great!
But in the end, the unprofessional and unsafe nature of one individual (the boat captain) sticks in your head. His behavior when discussed with other professionals was outright dangerous to me and two other divers in the water, but also for his own safety. His cavalier attitude was explained to his direct supervisor by me and other guest and to the best of my knowledge , IGNORED. The reason I state ignored is because they stated that they would follow up with me and DID NOT!
1)The captain in question lead a morning dive and had a flight in the afternoon. This violates diving safety protocols.
2)The captain brought up the safety drop regulator (hooka) while 3 divers were still in the water doing safety stops.
3)The captain also brought up the boat ladders with 3 divers in the water.
When I explained my vantage point to the dive operations manager he stated he had been made aware of the situation and he knew it was unprofessional conduct.
I also made it known to the hotel manager of my displeasure and she said she would talk with the dive shop manager.
It has been one month since the incident (ill call it island time), this is adequate time for a response and I have received no feedback.
Watch yourself with this dive operation, they have no respect for their own safety do you trust them with yours?
A little follow up and being true to your word would have prevented a bad review.

This was my first trip to a dedicated dive resort and was extremely pleased. Given the ~40 room capacity, the resort seems intimate, and the staff and dive masters get to know your preferences very quick.
For the duration, we were assigned a boat, Little Sister, with our dive masters, Rosie and Ragnar. Both were extremely helpful and attentive. They would rig the tanks, help test the nitrox, and bring your tank/bcd to the edge of the boat when it was time to jump in.
The daily logistics are very simple, as your regs & bcd stay on the boat all week, and they fill the tanks directly on the boat using long hoses from the dock. This make the daily grind easy for them and the visitors, as all you need to do is rinse/dry your wetsuit/fins at the end of the day and hang them in the dedicated locker.
The diving was relaxed with little to no current, and great for someone like me who only had 14 dives under my belt prior. We saw lots of coral and the small, colourful life that inhabits them. There were several dives where we did swim-throughs or get lost in a maze of coral. Every site we did had its own unique look.
In terms of big wildlife, Cayman Brac was a little light, however our groups saw a hammerhead on 2 dives, a massive loggerhead turtle, tarpon, eagle rays, sting rays, a reef shark, multiple barracuda, and hawksbill turtles. What mattered to me was very dive site had something interesting to see, so nothing seemed repetitive.
Back on land, with only 1 bar and 1 place to eat, every meal you are with your fellow divers. In my case I was with my local dive shop, and we had a dedicated table for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
The meals are buffet style all week and are very good. You can find something interesting to try each time, including some local dishes, but for the most part everything is standard north American fair. I found everything to my liking and for the sake of my 'return weight' I tried to limit my return to the buffet line. I had good intentions to stay away from desserts but will power can only go so far on vacation.

After diving in Grand Cayman this summer we decided to try out the Brac this holiday. Fortunately we travelled with a dive shop that booked us with Reef Divers. Jon & Oli gave great dive briefs, helped everyone sort their gear (and get in the water), and most importantly, kept us safe. That being said, they were also friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the island. I would recommend this shop to any divers.

A beautiful dive resort with , nice rooms, bountiful / good food, great pool / bar area, but a fantastic and friendly staff! We spent 11 days / 24 dives with this resort, and had a great time. DM's are very nice and work hard. They do it all, run the boat, get your gear, change out tanks, lead dives, and more. The local airline to get there (Cayman Airways) has a tendency to leave bags behind, so you need to plan ahead. There are a lot of divers for one DM (we had as many as 19 in the water) at one time. But the reefs are pretty, abundant sea life, little currents, truly vacation diving. A strong recommend.

Reef Divers is a top notch organization that specializes and strives to provide a 5-star diving experience. All of their dive masters are actually qualified scuba instructors and really make the extra effort to make your trip enjoyable and memorable. (Particular shout out to Lee, Carl and Eammon of Twin Sister out of Cobalt Coast on Grand Cayman - I would definitely dive with anyone one of you again, anytime).

This is a very excellant dive operation. The staff and crew are wonderful. They led us on several beautiful dives, including the Kittywake and several wonderful reefs. The dive guides are extremely knowledgable and great at pointing out different and exciting things to see and photograph. The host resort, Cobalt Coast, offers wonderful aminities, including great food and after dive beverages. Highly recommend!

I went on 17 dives over 7 days with Reef Divers based at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort. The staff were friendly, efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. In contrast to other operators (in other places), I never once felt hurried or pressured with these guys. The dive site briefings were detailed and gave me the confidence to venture ahead, loiter behind, or move away from the group underwater and still know where to go and what to look for around the dive site. Underwater, the dive pros pointed out lots of good stuff on the reef. Dive times were 50 minutes for deeper dives, and 60 minutes for shallower ones (60' or less), more than enough time to explore the sites. Their "valet" service takes some getting used to (you take your fins and mask to the back of the boat; they bring you the rest of your kit) but with no time pressures, you get used to it quickly.

Nor sure which resort since you didn't indicate. And TripAdvisor doesn't allow us to post links. Just go to that resort's website, click on scuba diving, and then select dive log. You'll find all back through late June last year.

What do you recommend to wear diving in August in Cayman Brac?
Clearly Cayman Guest Relations
開曼群島2 則投稿
It's truly a matter of personal preference. Some divers (me included) wear a wetsuit in the summer months and add extra layers in the winter. Others wear a skin or no thermal protection. Not everyone's cold threshold is the same. I've found that when I do multiple dives a day, I'm chilly by dive #3 each day and stay that way. Since end of July we've been putting each week's dive logs on our resort websites. So you can check them out to learn water temps and conditions this past August - then make your own judgment.

Can we use your dive services if we are not staying at the resort? We are interested in a boat dive trip to Little Cayman as well as tanks for shore dives on Cayman Brac.

Yes you can. You can make reservations through the same number as for our resorts - 727-323-8727. However, we can't guarantee a trip over to Little Cayman for any specific day. We try to do so for each boat at least once each week assuming the divers are interested and it's weather dependent.

Hi there, does Reef Divers on little Cayman have Din valves on Din inserts on their 80's, or only Yoke valve, hence I would need an adapter?
Clearly Cayman Guest Relations
開曼群島2 則投稿
Sorry for the delay in responding. We have just yoke valves but normally have a couple of DIN adapters. To be safe, we suggest you bring your own adapter or contact our reservations team to make sure we will have one available for you during your visit.

We would like to spend some time doing in Little Cayman after our annual 2 week timeshare onGrand Cayman. Because of dietary restrictions we need to have a kitchen (minimally a fridge and microwave) in our room. Can you recommend any places to sty that meet our needs. If this could be done as a dive package for two, even better. We are looking at a 2/11 arrival and check out on either 2/15 or 2/18. Also, can you fly to Grand Cayman the same day you dive? Thank you.

Good Evening,
I will be on the Brac Saturday 22 April for only one night. I just want to snorkel as I have very limited scuba experience. I have my own snorkel and fins. What are my options?

Are afternoon dives 1 tank or 2 tank. We enjoy diving 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening plus any night dives available. Also, is there shore diving from the resort?

I am visitng in January and trying to decide on a 2 or 3 tanks a day package. It would help me to decide if you coud tell me what are the usual travel times to the dive sites, and what time you generally get back to the resort after the afternoon dive.
