A really, really beautiful, authentic beach, with little cahutes that sell food, they act as a bar... We really loved it, it is really authentic!

Very nice beach, give a small donation to enter. Takes a long while to reach based on distance and traffic but very worth it. Food,drinks and snacks are sold in beach area, there are sun beds( probably for rental), also an area to rent to put your belongings( a bamboo shed). Can pay for a boat trip to go and see monkey island. PLS NOTE IN THE DARK AREAS OF THE WATER WEAR SEAGRASS IS THERE ARE SEA URCHINS!! So please avoid to prevent injury. There is also a SPRING on the right hand side of the beach if you walk down all the way, it’s clean. Showers are available but as people use it throughout the day the water pressure gets low( also there is no cover for the shower areas unless someone holds a towel behind you while showering).

Pretty beach, plenty of food and drink snacks. Give a donation to get in.
This is a local beach and is swept clean by the volunteers. However beach is not very deep and there are no sunbeds or chairs to rent.

A morning at this beach will help calm your mind and spirit. I came here solo in the morning and found the beach empty. Best to bring your own towel and drinks. There is someone from the community to let you in to park and you can make a small donation as well to keep the facilities up to date. Quiet and very relaxing. There are turtles nesting, so be aware of signs and advice from locals. There is plenty of shade and food/drink if you need anything.

Very nice beach with clear water and fine golden sand. Compared to other beaches in the area they don’t charge high entry fees. You may donate the amount you wish to help keep the beach clean. Good offer of food and beverages.

Mit großer Vorfreude sind wir zum Beach gefahren. Leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht. Alles war voller Algen. Große Berge sammelten sich am Beach. Baden war nicht möglich. Es roch sehr fischig. Der Vibe dort ist gut, typisch jamaikanisch. Die Einheimischen treffen sich hier, rauchen und kommen zusammen. Keine anderen Touristen, das war angenehm. Wenn die Algen nicht wären, ist der Strand sicher deutlich schöner. Für uns so leider nur zwei Sterne.

Stopped over to see Cynthia's reataurant but she ran out of food. Sweet lady. Grabbed some fish and drinks from one of the stalls. Place is relaxing and the water was awesome. Highly recommend. No pressure buying. No one bothers you

Era para ser uma praia linda, mas a falta de cuidados e excesso de lixo no local prejudicaram a experiência, o que faz pouco sentido para uma praia que cobra ingresso.

Nous avons été emballés d'autant que nous ne nous attendions pas à trouver cette très belle plage à cet endroit. En effet, nous avions voulu aller à James Bond Beach (totalement barricadée car abandonnée à cause de la gestion du Covid), puis à Frenchman's Cove (très belle mais payante, 20 $/pers alors qu'elle est minuscule), le Blue Lagoon (également fermé pour rénovation (?), c'est ce qu'on nous a dit sur place). Nous nous sommes entêtés et avons roulé sur une route totalement défoncée (5 km prennent facilement 20 mn !!) et sommes finalement arrivés sur cette très jolie plage, calme et sauvage, avec des pêcheurs et quelques locaux. Ils demandent 200 dollars jamaïcains pour l'entretien, ce qui représente un peu plus d'1 € !! Nous avons même déjeuné au petit restaurant Cynthia's en bout de plage, il y avait juste quelques tables. Nous avons un peu attendu mais la cuisine y était très bonne. La dame nous a même fait fièrement visiter sa cuisine. Cette journée fut un des plus beaux souvenirs que nous avons ramenés de la Jamaïque.

Winnifred is a beautiful beach on it's own, but the community that maintains it and the clutch of stalls selling food, drinks and authentic souvenirs make it truly special. A much more authentic experience than any resort can offer.

Was the area by winniefred beach affected by this rainy season? Does anyone think it's safe to visit the beach with my family next month December 26, 2017?

I went in September so not entirely sure. my parents had sent me a video of the rain as it started since the end of Sept and not stopped yet. they told me areas had flooded. Winifred Beach is low down and in a dipped area so wouldn't surprise me if it was flooded at all. Sorry not much help!

I wouldn t count on the facilities. And you dont have to pay, although people will ask for or tell you to. But nevertheless the beach is amazing!

When I was there Dec 2016, the man who collected the donations was sweeping the rubbish into a pile near the tideline, then covering it with sand. Beach cleaning.

Hi Crystal, it's public beach, no accommodations or major eatery. You can however plan your own birthday outing, it's free to visit and does have small cook shops catering to delicious local cuisine. Either way you should visit it's a great beach!

That be hard. It is mostly a locals beach. We parked at end of paved road and walked the last 1/2-3/4 mile on foot. You can try to get taxi at cruise area to take you there, but I dont know if they wait a couple hours. There is nothing around there
