The day we went it was packed. Wall to wall people. Probably because two ships were in port. Lots of birds and plants but the falls is not much.

There is a very nice viewpoint overlooking the island and is popular with visitors having their photo taken. The gardens are well laid out and interesting to walk through.

We visited as a group of 5 adults and 3 kids (age 9, 7 and 4). We arrived much later than planned due to heavy holiday traffic on the road to Ocho Rios. Despite this, we were offered a free tour (guides work for tips) by the friendliest and most knowledgeable man we could have met. He knew every inch of the botanical gardens and took us on an entertaining and informative walk through them. The gardens are absolutely beautiful! Next up was our chance to hold a parrot, again even though it was late in the afternoon the staff waited for us so we didn’t miss out.
Finally, we were taken to the falls, where we were given the option to swim in a little pool of water or be escorted by a lifeguard and photographer up the falls (again, free but working for tips). We chose to climb the falls. The staff were fantastic and made sure everyone was happy and safe- from my 73 year old mum down to the 4 year old in our group. The woman taking photos (presumably to sell us) literally never mentioned selling anything to us and happily took our phones to take photos for us. And even though we were the last people in the park, we never felt rushed to finish, and were allowed to hang out and enjoy the natural beauty when we finished the climb.
Definitely recommend a visit for families!

I was very disappointed with my visit at Konoko Falls but I tried to make the most of it seeing that I was already there. The location has a section for a little tour, my friends and I had to basically free style, we had no guide, we just walked around and looked basically. The tour would have been so much better with a tour guide showing us the various attractions on display and giving some information, especially for the little museum that's there. The falls was mid! Very dirty with lots of leaves and no where to swim. I strongly believe that the falls can be cleaned and maintained better. Konoko falls has so much potential to be a very good attraction but I'm not sure what the issue is. Based on my experience, I'd never go back.

What a lovely botanical garden and the gardener's guided tour was rich in discovery. Beautiful views. We stocked up on oxygen, beautiful views, and beautiful photos.
Allow one to two hours for the visit.
Possibility of food and games for children.

We went to Konoko Falls today and had a fantastic tour with Winston. He taught us about all the tropical plants and flowers. We learned how they cook with them along with the medicinal benefits.
The park also had many beautiful birds, reptiles and farm animala. The grounds and landscape were beautiful and everything is impeccibly kept. The falls cascaded down and you can climb up the falls on different levels and also swim in various pool areas. There is also a small museum that was a great touch along with a bar and grill. We were therw about 1.5 hours on a tour and wish we had a little more time. We had such a wonderful time..thank you Winston
We also took pictures with a birds and Iguanas, the handlers were awesone too! Thanks Konoko Falls

Loved it here! I heard it was much less crowded than dunns river and that was definitely true. It was nice and relaxing and very few people. We climbed the falls, were able to hold a parrot and iguana, they had a crocodile and other animals. The guide told us about their garden with a lot of interesting plants. While climbing the waterfall we were able to take dips in the swimming holes as well. It was a lovely place.

What a great day. We stopped at a duty free shop
in ochos Rios. Get water shoes $13 you'll need them. At Konoko falls. You go through the gardens with a guide explaining all the plants.
Then, you climb the waterfalls. Super experience. Once finished, you get lunch. Then home. Thoroughly recommend this such a great experience.

We had so much fun! We explored the water falls, had the best tour with WINSTON (ASK FOR HIM) that was super informative on the animals and plants on campus. The food and drinks were amazing! I’m definitely coming back!

Do you have to walk up the falls? Can you just get dropped off at the top and stroll through the garden and zoo?

Can you take pictures with different animals for free or do you have to pay?

There is no charge or restrictions as it relates to taking pictures of animal or plants. The tour guides will even take your pictures for you. They are extremely accommodating.

Can you take your own food? Is there a group package? Do we have to book or can visit at any open day/time?

I do not believe they prohibit you from bringing your own food. They do offer you the option of getting a locker should you need to store it there.
Relative to the group rate question I would reach out directly to Konoko as they are very accommodating.

We spent about 2.5 hours or so at the site, including climbing the falls, taking pictures of the beautiful views, visiting the little museum, and checking out the mini zoo. There's also a little place to shop. We did not eat at the restaurant, but sampled the jerk chicken.
