What an amazing house!!! I went with my family and the tour guide was so welcoming. Must see in Jamaica. The gardens were beautiful and the christmas decor made it feel like an Irie Christmas.

The house is well worth a visit. Our tour guide (Norma) was excellent. A very interesting visit. There are great cafes and gift shops on site too.

A great break from the hustle and bustle of Kingston. Luckily visited during the week so it was quieter than usual and didn’t have a lot of school kids or other weekend visitors.
A nice relaxing day with great food and delicious ice cream. Quite a lot of queue considering it was not busy but still a great meal.

Devon house was a lovely stately home, where Jamaica’s first black millionaire lived. On arrival it took us ages to book a tour as the kiosk was closed and no-one was around to sell us a ticket or offer any information about the guided tours. Eventually someone turned up and we got in! The the tour was informative with lots of lovely rooms and furnishings to see - think English stately home, just warmer! There’s also some nice shops in the Devon house complex including the famous ice cream parlour (massive ice creams at half the price back home).

Visiting the Devon House Mansion was like stepping back into the 19th century with its beautifully preserved architecture and lush grounds. We didn’t actually go around the house, we just went to sit in the courtyard and soak up the atmosphere and indulge in a few patties and these patties are the best. I had the fish Pattie - heaven in a pastry case 😍😍.

If you are going to be in Kingston or passing nearby, you have to detour to Devon House. A historically stately mansion that has become Jamaica's centre of gastronomy with several restaurants, cafes, takeaways, and artisan shops and a large square for eating and relaxing outside.
You will not be disappointed, we went there in the evening and met up with family. We did not go into every place just the Ice Cream called Iscream Centre and the Bakery. I sampled a fair amount of ice cream before settling on a 3-scoop vanilla bean, grape nut, rum n' raisin, however, I could have chosen so many others. All delicious! Then to the bakery to pick up patties, cakes, and pastries for our trip out the following day. It was good we all shared and each one was great quality and sheer joy to eat.
There is so much to do there, but time and family catch-up did not allow. The website is really useful.
You will love this place! Please be aware of finding the correct entrance to Devon House, sat navs can let you down!

What a waste of time. A total shambles. The visit was supposed to be 40mons ended up being 1.5hrs - a complete waste of time. The guide was screeching into a microphone in a confined space to try to show us around a house. After that we were suppose to have invaded either a Jamaican party or an ice cream. This lot couldn’t organise a proverbial

hello my name is Malique Johnson and I want to take my mother and others ( 7 people) out on a pinic. We need to spend some time alone (privacy). we are okay with other people being there but we dont want any disturbances. Is there a place where we can eat (have a pinic) and then play in some nice green grass. We would also like to play water war on the grass, if we are not allowed to play water war on the grass we would like somewhere private to do so.

Is there an entry fee to enter the site, or is it free for patrons interested in simply walking about the property and purchasing some ice cream without an official tour?

Entrance is free but you can pay for tours. they have a variety of packages that include ice cream Or food etc along with the tour.
