Here you will get beautiful wooden clogs for your personal style. There are several shoes for testing and getting inspired. If you like to combine your own shoe that's also easily possible within a few minutes. You can watch how the shoes are made and they will be tailored for your feeds! A great souvenir!

I always dreamed to have geta (Japanese wooden clogs), or muji as they are called here, since watching Japanese cartoons as a kid. And now I had the chance to buy a pair, though the Taiwanese version (which are ergonomically more suitable to the human body, compared to the aesthetically better looking Japanese ones).
Don’t let yourself be put off to wear “wooden flip-flops” in public, this shop, with more than 100 years history, has a lot of varieties in geta’s (especially for women): from the traditional ones to trendy modern ones. You can choose one of the many colourful strips yourself, and they will fix them right there for you according to your feet’s size.
The main benefits I found wearing them are:
- you walk on a natural material, wood in this case, instead of plastic/rubber.
- the wood absorbs your feet’s sweat and doesn’t become slippery and smelly.
- it might feel awkward at first, to walk with a hard sole, but after a day or two it will become more and more comfortable and you won’t want to walk on anything else (I even went hiking on these!).
- (in case of the traditional high-geta’s) if it rains you won’t get mud splattered on the back of your pants.
- you’re indirectly forced to walk with a more erect posture.
- they’re durable!
-they’re a nice an typical old Taiwanese souvenir! ;)
