從台南上來台北都週末，爬了睽違已久的陽明山。一路蟲鳴鳥叫、雖然有點小累、腿有點酸丶還差一點迷路，但巧遇一位爬山經驗豐富的大哥，帶領我們從二子坪走到清天宮，成為這次台北遊記的最美插曲！

陽明山國家公園非常的大，可以帶家人來走走。最喜歡陽明山的一點是，每個月來都有不一樣的景色，已台北地區來說，是四季變化最明顯的地方。喜歡大自然花花草草的人，很適合到陽明山。

陽明山國家公園因受緯度及海拔之影響，氣候分屬亞熱帶氣候區與溫帶氣候區。春季二、三月是陽明公園傳統的花季，色彩繽紛的各種杜鵑與滿山遍野的緋寒櫻，吸引大批賞花人潮，讓陽明山的初春更顯生氣蓬勃。以大屯火山群為主體的陽明山國家公園，是我國主要的火山分佈區，地質構造多屬安山岩；外型特殊的錐狀或鐘狀火山體及火山口、火口湖，構成本區獨特的地質地形景觀。區內的大、小油坑、馬槽、大磺嘴等地，都可見到強烈的噴氣孔活動。

冬天的陽明山離漫著大霧，而且氣溫比較巿區相差差不多10度，幸好早有準備，帶了外套。竹子湖比較少人逛，所以拍了不少的照片。小油坑可以看到火山噴氣孔，聞到很重的硫磺味。擎天崗因為天氣的緣故錯過了 :(，下次有機會的話會早點出門

整個陽明山範圍非常的廣， 景點也很多， 一天是沒有辦法逛完的， 可以選一條步道， 再加上泡溫泉， 還有去青青草原走一走，都還不錯

I will be travelling alone in mid February and have a few qns
1. is it safe to go alone as a female
2. can i grab there and back to taipei city area or is public transport easier. If so, how?
3. Is it to locate the flower clock, hot springs and flower field?

Hi,
1. It is safe for female to go alone - I also went there alone : )
2. Public bus is cheap and convenient. It took you right to the park's bus stop. I took bus No. R5 (NT$30, 30 minutes) from Jiantan MRT station to Yangmingshan Bus Station. Then, you can hop on-off using the shuttle bus inside the park. On the way back, I ended my route at Grassland. From there, taking bus No. S5 is better. It will take you back to Jiantan MRT.
3. There is a map provided for tourists. Bus stop is quite easy to be located but remember to get off on time. Buses run only 1-way. If you miss the corect bus stop, it will waste time.

I would like to visit the Flower Clock on Yangmingshan during February and then go to a restaurant at Jhuzihhu for lunch.
I should be taking a taxi up right to the visitor centre/flower clock. And then walk to the Jhuzihu area to eat.
So my questions are
1) Is the flower clock area a good place to start/walk around?
2) Is it reccomended to walk from the flower clock to the Jhuzihhu area?
3) Is it easy to find my way to Jhuzihhu area?
4) Will there be cherry blossoms (assuming they bloom) during the walk from the flower clock to the Jhuzihhu area?

Is it worth it to visit Yangminshan National Park during the end of December?

It would depend on the weather on that day. If it rains too heavily, the walking trail becomes slippery. The advice is to bring rain gear as it often rains in the afternoon, and to take care on the slippery slopes. If there is a forecast of torrential rains or typhoon, it is recommended to keep off the mountains.

What kind of wildlife can you see in this park? And where are the hot springs located at from the entrance?

In the park you can watch out for the Elegant Five-lined skink (with a blue tail), Yellow mouthed Japalura, Indian Forest skink and butterflies. On the northern slope of Mt Qixing, frequently seen birds include the Crested Serpent-eagle, House Swift, Barn Swallow, Yellow bellied Prinia and Striated Swallow. Thankfully I did not encounter any snakes, especially when walking through thick bamboo groves. The hot springs are located close to the Lengshuikeng Bus Stop, with an outdoor foot dipping pool as well as a more private indoor facility for bathing naked. Both are free of charge. If you enjoy looking at nature, you might also like to hike around Maokong where I saw lots of butterflies and even miniature crabs, as well as interesting flora.

How to go to Yamingshan from Ximending? Is there a tour group we can join?

Both places are not far to each other and if by taxi/car, it's less than 30mins from Ximenting.
Or you can take the subway to Jiantan Station, and take the red-5 bus to Yangmingshan stop.
I trust there are day tours there and you may like to check with your hotel for that as some hotels do have a tour desk or they can do the booking for you.

Can the pick up and drop off point be different? Our hotel would be at Hotel East Taipei. But we were planning to go on this tour and then go to a resort it Beitou. Is that possible ?

We used a taxi from Taoyuan. I imagine you can use a taxi from anywhere and have as many stops as you wish.
