關於
阿里山山脈為台灣五大山脈之一，然而阿里山並不是一座山，而是泛指整個山區。這裡自古擁有豐沛的紅檜與臺灣扁柏，從1912年起為台灣最具規模的林場，一直到1960年代末期為止。現在遊樂區內有兩段巨木群棧道，漫步在步道上可以觀賞到遺留下來的36株的紅檜巨木，讓人緬懷過去神木林的壯闊神聖。

阿里山看日出
疊疊青山數幾重，浮雲今未戀群峰
朝陽冉冉從東起，萬道金光展旭容。
早上4點多起床，搭賓舘的車到火車站，已有很多遊客在那等火車了，搭上車到祝山看日出。其實天已亮，只是尚未爬上山。六點四十多，太陽從山脊升起。

阿里山小火車無論阿里山站搭到神木區或達到沼平站都是好選擇。時間夠的話，多花些時間走步道或散步，是在阿里山放鬆身心的首選。來的時候櫻花季剛結束，所以，櫻花滿開的景象已不再，但番路鄉台18線公路上及園區內，仍有零星的粉色櫻花，頗開心。派出所見一獼猴正在摘取樹葉食用，感覺有趣。服務中心附近的商鋪在疫情過後，有復甦的跡象。非假日人潮也多，外籍人士出現。買了高山烏龍茶及小米麻糬吃吃，很新鮮！值得一來，山很美，尤其天氣好時的層次感，平地沒有。

阿里山是台灣最早出名的高山旅遊景點，在台灣櫻花栽培技術未成熟前，更是熱門的賞櫻景點。阿里山森林遊樂區內飯店不多，假日房價很貴，櫻花季更是一房難求，這次來阿里山賞櫻，就是搭乘客運一日來回，因為有管制小客車上山，車程大致順暢。森林遊樂區內櫻花種類很多，不過也就代表盛開時間不一，阿里山工作站前的櫻王花開約七分，吸引了大批遊客；沼平公園的櫻花已經開過了，沒有看到櫻花林的美景。除了櫻花之外，在工作站前、木蘭園內的木蘭花也盛開了，台灣平地很少見，很幸運能在阿里山欣賞到。

很久沒來阿里山遊玩了，這次來的感覺比之前來的好，阿里山森林遊樂園的規劃很完善,景緻優美,風景優美,景點間築以木棧道銜接,最大程度避免遊客迷路,也容易行走
登山拱橋、涓涓溪澗,山嵐縹緲神木群,園區內很大，空氣清新，環境清潔。保育做得很好，樹木壯觀，身處在園區內，完全感受到大自然的森林浴！

非常美麗,充滿芬多精的大自然森林樂園~

Hi I'm planning to go the Alishan in January, but schedule is quite tight. I read that the last bus is around 5:10pm from Alishan back to Chiayi town. However we plan to return a bit later, maybe around 6:30pm. Are there any taxis from Alishan to Chiayi?

I would like to get a good suggestion for spending 2 nights in Alishan, accommodation and attraction trails.

Does anyone know about weddings here? We want to have about 5-6 people gather and get married somewhere in the forest. Finding info about rules or date availability in English is really challenging. Any insight appreciated!

Hi , yes i think you can arrange that married there but you need to contact the park for more details on this . If you not going to throw petals and get dirty the parks , i guess is ok to go ahead. i saw people take wedding picture there.

Does anyone know another alternative way besides private driver that goes to Alishan?
I arrived in chiayi today only to be told the train to Alishan has been stopped-until further notice- due to an accident.

Chiayi city, located in the south of Taiwan, was particularly prosperous during the Japanese administration period due to the trade and distribution of alpine forestry timber; so much so that it was even listed as one of Taiwan’s four major cities.
On this 2D1N trip you’ll experience the "highest" narrow-gauge mountain railway in all of Asia up close and personal: the main line and branch line of the Alishan Forest Railway, climbing from Chiayi Railway Station at only 30m above sea level to Zhushan Station at an amazing 2,451m above sea level（partly closed for the whole line）. Along the way you’ll witness the changes in the forest as you climb higher and higher, while enjoying the striking beauty of the mountain and river valley formations.
In the afternoon, we will take a leisurely stroll along the two sections of the Giant Trees Plank Trail in the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area to the 36 Millennium Taiwan red false cypress giant trees, which are the oldest living cypresses in the entire Alishan region. In the early morning of the next day we will take the Forest Railway branch line to Zhushan Station where we will climb up to the Mt. Ogasawara Viewing Lot to enjoy the 360-degree view and the magnificent Alishan sunrise!

It is absolutely worth visiting all year round. Take a stroll along the landscape trails with their changing colors in different seasons, walking in the woods in a spirit of freedom, enjoy the forest’s phytoncides.

It should be pretty comfortable. I never made it to the "middle of Alishan", I stayed near Fencihu (but at a higher elevation) and it was late November. The room was actually quite cold at night, even with blankets and a heater. I think i's good for the tea plants.

There are a few cherry trees but not many. This forest is mostly giant cedar type trees.
Not sure when they blossom, sorry.
