We drove all the way from Delhi to Chitkul - 602 Kms - 6 days - 3 stay-overs later, we reached this scenic destination Chitkul - the last village of India near the Indo-Tibetan border. In March, there was snow on the other side of the river. But everything was breathtaking!

It’s a good destination for a day trip from Sangla, there are no good accommodations in Chitkul. You can enjoy the lovely weather in this the last village of India. You can visit the Last dhaba of India and enjoy rajma- chaval lunch. Do drive further 4 kms to the last ITBP check post. Get down to the river side , you can chill out over there and take photos. Also you may like to visit Chitkul Devi temple which is open in morning and evenings, near by is fort and monastery . You will enjoy the amazing weather and views from Chitkul.

What a great place to see. Loved the nature and sceneric beauty all around this place. Road is not easy but full of sceneries around that will tempt you to stop and watch the beauty.

CHITKUL is the last inhabited village near the Indo-China border. A Serene place..With breathtaking scenery ! On walking distance from the village you can go to the Baspa River side to make your experience more enriching. The Freshness in the air of this valley is calm and peaceful...TRY the local Rajma chawal in here, its very tasty and also very different from the regular one we North Indians eat.the weather conditions here,During summers is not very cold when the sun is out but its windy.I would suggest to carry caps or beanie's to cover your head.
It was a amazing experience to be here and i recommend everyone to visit this place once ,The journey to reach here can be quite tiring but its totally worth it!!

It’s so peaceful I could spend hours just sitting early morning and listening to the sounds of birds, river and wind. I wish to explore it in different seasons to see the colours. When i went it was mostly snow everywhere. Most of people come foe day trip and return back to sangla but please stay few days in chitkul. It’s worth it.

Chitkul - The last village, gone ahead of it, Baspa River and the Valley is much more beautiful and the land is mesmerizing. The freshness in air is invigorating, exhilarating.

A visit during March to this beautiful places in the State of Himachal is a bliss. We arrived in Chandigargh - in dawn and we have already taken Taxi Tour Package from Bhupender (Sonu nickanme) and drove to to narkand on the way Mohan shakti heritage sight it was great sight seen..
Next morning we were in a pleasant surprise of the sunrise blistering and after witnessing it and having a warm and filling breakfast we walked through the breathtaking town of Kalpa.
After spending three nights in this amazing place we drove to Sangla and subsequently to the last Tibet border village of Chitkul. On the way the amazing colour of the flora stunned us, trees now have colours ranging from red to gold with light or dark green completeing the breathtaking canvas. Add to it blue or mauve colouerd flowers and you have a thundering riot of colours in front of your eyes. The pearl blue waters of river Baspa flows through Chitkul and we sat and sat beside it and wished we could spend time here till eternity.
But last nor the least this amazing trip can be possible wthout our amazing Travel partner and Guide Bhupender Ji famously known as Sonu Ji from Dharampur you can reach him guys on 9816378229/9817356899 thanks Sonu ji we will never forget this mesmerizing time with you in Himalayas keep rocking.
If you are Adventurous enough you can continue your journey to Kaza via Nako /Tabo.
Way back we visited the magnificient Bhimkali Temple in Sarahan but that is another story to be told next blog

It is called India's last village. Situated at 11000 feet it is a small beautiful village with a few hotels and eateries. Going there during peak winter like Dec to Feb is not recommended due to severe cold and bad roads. Even in March we had a couple of spots where the car was unable to move and needed help. The road from the highway to the top is a litlle narrow but scenic and will need to be careful while driving. But at the end its worth the drive and spending time in the snow. I guess during warmer seasons there are treks organized.

Yes sangla road open ager aap ka driver skild hai to no problem other wise experience driver chahiye snow fall hota hai jan or Feb m bhut some place shooting stone area knowledge wala driver jaruri hai any plan plz contact 9816378229/9817356899
my son and his group have been stranded near chitkul village for the last three days so reason for lands
lidind and road close so how many days road close and when will group exit

I wish go to SHIMLA – NARKANDA – SANGLA - CHITKUL – RAKCHAM - KANDA TREK and KALPA in March end (30th March) of 2020. Can one suggest me how the road condition and temperature in End of march? Can see snow in Sangla, Chitkul or kalpa? Is that safe to take my Family with 8 years Child.

The roads are good.You will find snow but whether it will still be snowing cannot be foretold. However it will be quite cold especially for a child and so you should take ample precautions.The views will be lovely and heavenly!

Quite comfortable.Mornings and evenings will be cold.Carry a jacket and warm woolens.

Yes, but have a BSNL sim or Airtel. Beyond Bhatseri towards Chitkul, connectivity is poor.
Avoid traveling if it has snowed, the roads to Chitkul could be very slippery
