Beautiful beach adjacent to Highcliffe Castle. We enjoyed a walk on the sand. Easy access from the castle car park (payable).

This my favourite to go beach for a swim and relax with the family. I should say the views are amazing. However, the let down is the dog owners not keeping an eye on their pet that come licking on our food, or take a dump while their master is ahead of mile. I dont hate animals, if youre owner of one take responsibility. The other downside is BCP should take action regarding the facilities and amenities around. They make enough money from parking to install anpr cameras and im sure they can set something aside in regards to toilets and the dilapited shelter area.

This is a much better beach, especially for swimming, than it looks from a distance, from which it looks like mostly shingle -- which means it's usually uncrowded. At the west end, from the castle west, it's especially quiet, and there's a band of sand just under the wooded cliffs which makes a lovely base, especially late in the day when it has been warmed up, and has a lovely soft, gentle light. Below the shingle, too, it's nothing but sand, with a small tidal range and weak currents, which makes it perfect for a leisurely swim.

We had a lovely afternoon here we walked down to the beach and walked along the beach. You can walk along to the castle from here if you want too, we are going to come back here and do the longer walk.

Wonderful stretch of coastline. Incredible views. No roads in sight once down by the sea. Nice cliff top cafe/restaurant. Public toilets. No showers. Beach is a lovely mix of sand, stones, small boulders. Paddle boarders, surfers, swimmers even in freezing weather! Dog heaven.

A very lovely place :) we were able to walk even with our daughter who is a wheelchair user. Amazing view, great parking (accepts only coins) and lovely cafe and ice cream van on the right side it’s rocky beach and on the left side sandy beach (dogs friendly) so everyone can find something lovely ️

An absolutely stunning beach with soft silky sand making it perfect to gently stroll along, or to just sit peacefully with your family for a great day of fun with or without a tasty picnic.
There is chargeable parking nearby that is completely free off season, plus there are several eateries including the Cliffhanger that you can either dine in or grab a take away to enjoy on the beach, if you haven't the energy to walk all the way down there you could just sit on one of the many wooden benches complete with table to soak up all those outstanding views of the Solent & beyond, complete paradise

We have been visiting for 30 years. It’s a lovely Sandy beach with higher shingle and large rocks. It’s not usually v busy. Very popular with dog walkers and joggers. A nice walk along to Avon Beach and Mudeford from here.

No parasols or deck chair hire, apart from hopefully finding a shady area on the beach, the cliffhanger Cafe has lots of seating with parasols outside,,, The town shops are very nearby, use them to get inside

Quick answer no it's not. Best to do it in two journeys and separate the two beauty spots. Both have car parks. As you get to see the remainder of the coast you get into the New Forest's beach control which is decidedly dodgy for those less able. I hope I answered this in good time? Mark.

Between 1 May and 30 September no dogs on Avon Beach, Friars Cliff Beach and Highcliffe Beach between Groynes H4 and H8. Dogs are allowed between the wave wall at end of Friars Cliff Beach and Groyne H4 at Highcliffe Beach, Mudeford Sandbank and Gundimore Beach.

Is Highcliffe beach cliff area really going to be the site for 8 very large overnight Beach Huts with no attached services? Which in my opinion would spoil it permanently. Just for the small amount of publicity from a Channel 4 competition?

Oh good, it will add character and colour to the area and will no doubt attract more visitors.
We must bear in mind that the beach is for everyone, and not just the snobby, judgemental few who think it is their own personal beauty spot.
