The cultural experience was incredible! The woman shown in the photographs was our cultural guide and we had an English interpreter, both of whom where friendly and wonderful to be with.
After being dressed in kimono, we witnessed the intricacies of a formal tea ceremony, with tons of details about what we saw and what we were doing (mimicking the cultural guide). I am delighted that this was available and we loved being exposed to all this!

This was a great experience and worth the price. It was authentic, educational, experiential, and fun. The people providing the experience were very warm, knowledgeable, and friendly, especially with my 5 year old and 2 year old. They provided kimonos, took pictures, walked us through an actual ceremony, and taught us each step of the way how to do the various movements as well as the meaning behind each element and gesture. I would highly recommend this. It was worth the price.

So wonderful to learn the traditions of the tea ceremony. The TeaMaster was so wise and willing to share her knowledge with us! The interpreter was wonderful and we had such a great time! We will definitely come back and try one of the other cultural experiences.

The Sando experience was truly remarkable. Each detail was laid out so nicely and my friend and I throughly enjoyed each element. The calligraphy was very interesting and the instructor was patient and kind. I have done two other tea ceremonies in the past, but this tea ceremony provided an experience unlike any other. The entire ceremony, from the cleansing, to crawling through the tearoom entrance, to pouring our own water from a traditional kettle to make Matcha tea…it was something I will remember forever! The flower arranging was also very interesting and I learned so much about the Japanese style of flower arranging. I highly recommend the full Sando experience and would love to bring any guests we may have here to enjoy it as well.

This place where I have been to is so wonderful and beautiful.It was really first time for us to try Japanese tea ceremony.But here is the special teacher who taught us !! Even though we don’t know how to do everything. They taught perfectly.
So we could know how to drink Japanese matcha and eat traditional Japanese sweets.we also could know that Okinawa has original culture.
That was wonderful experience!! I really recommend if you would like to have real experience of Japanese culture and feel Okinawa’s human being !!

恩納村の希望ヶ丘にこんな素敵な施設があったんだ！と感動しました。周りは自然が豊かでとても静かな場所。施設の中は日本の文化を感じる造りですごく落ち着く空間でした。
簡易着物を選べるのですが、普段着ないお着物に着物も入ります。
茶道では、本格的な茶室にて、ひとつひとつの所作の意味やお作法、相手の方と空気を合わせることなどを学びました。
そして、とても静寂した空間の中、ひとつひとつ自然の音を感じながらお茶を立てる時間は本当に静かで素敵な時間でした。和流のお菓子と自分で立てたお抹茶は本当に美味しかったです。
海外の方をお連れするときっと喜ばれると思いますし、沖縄県民の方にも、日常とは違う雰囲気の中、和の文化を感じられる素敵な場所だと思いますのでオススメできるスポットです。

I joined my colleagues recently for a wonderful " Sando" tea ceremony.
We were guided from the beginning to the end by a team of true professionals.
I believe anyone who is visiting Okinawa and would like to feel immersed into Japanese culture then this activity is a must.

We spent he afternoon of my wife’s birthday learning the Tea Ceremony. What a great cultural and educational experience.
The staff were so kind and the location was beautiful. We left with a sense of calmness.
We now want to try the calligraphy and floral arrangement classes.
