Booked this tour while on vacation in Charleston. Our tour guide, Eric, was extremely informative and entertaining. He walked us through the most historic areas in the city and kept us in the shade whenever possible. Highly recommend!

Our guide Eric has a PhD in history with a particular focus on South Carolina and Charleston. He is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I felt like I had completed a mini-course on Charleston history :-)

Also practically, he did a great job keeping us relatively in the shade, especially while he was explaining buildings or topics to the group.

The tour guide Eric has a Ph.D in history and was so informative! Seeing the sights put into the context of history that Eric made so interesting and fun was awesome. Highly recommend!

The tour was very informational, and Eric, our tour guide tried to make sure that we were in shade whenever we had to stop for more than a minute or two. It was a lot of walking, which I loved, and you get to see so many historic sites!

I don't do any reviews but find I must share a comment about this tour.
The group was small <10, so everyone had a chance to ask questions and interact with each other. Being in our 70's, the pace was perfect.

The guide, Eric was phenomenal both in presentation and knowledge. He was easy to hear (my wife has hearing problems and she did not have any difficulty).

As a PhD in South Carolina history, we found the tour so interesting it was disappointing to have it end. He had also worked in Williamsburg and currently as adjunct history professor at the Citadel. This allowed the group to ask questions that I'm sure were beyond the routine. By the end of the tour, we felt him to be more a friend than a guide.

We were in Charleston for a couple of days as part of a cruise itinerary. We had visited Charleston five years earlier but were eager to re-visit its historical center and learn more about it. This tour was absolutely perfect for that purpose. It met at the Charleston Historical foundations building- very well located on Meeting Street. The foundation has a huge variety of beautiful Charleston connected items for sale ranging from books to furniture to local seasoning and bags of area grown well renowned rice.

Eric, our tour guide, was one of a kind and anyone who tours with him will be super lucky. He is a younger fellow who somehow has accumulated a really really impressive dossier that all tie to history especially of South Carolina. He even has a PhD and wrote his dissertation on South Carolinas government at the time of the Civil War. He really knows everything and when you ask a question you know you are getting an accurate answer. I forgot to mention he also teaches history classes at night to students at the Citidel. He is energetic and passionate and you simply could not ask for a better walking tour and historical overview of Charleston.

Without a doubt, the BEST tour guide we have ever had. Knowledgeable (not surprising, he is a college professor with a PhD in history). Excellent delivery, managed time very well, and was even able to keep us in the shade just about the entire two hours. Eric is funny, very well informed, and has a great communicative style. We could listen to him for hours more.

Eric was SO knowledgeable and fun! I've been to Charleston several times, but this was the best tour I've ever taken. The pace was perfect and he really offered great information and answered all of our questions.

We had a wonderful tour with Eric as our guide. He is actually a history professor, so he was extremely well-versed in the background and historical anecdotes of Charleston. Thoroughly enjoyed our morning tour!
