We had Dani as our guide. She was amazing! She knew her history well and she was very fun. My husband and I were glad we got to see lots of parts of the city and restaurants because we don’t live in the area. The food was a great variety and I loved the differing styles of food and atmosphere each restaurant brought. Definitely recommend!

My daughter and I were having a Girls weekend in Indy and decided to do this tour. I had lived there many, many years ago but so much has changed! Learning some Indy history was very interesting and we went to places I would never have explored on my own. The food was fantastic at each place. No need to plan dinner because the sample sizes are very generous. I highly recommend! Looking forward to taking another one in a different part of town next time!

It was an enjoyable experience. The tour combined food tasting, area history, exercise and site-seeing for an informative, exhilarating, fun and delicious afternoon.

Martha was an excellent guide. I went with my adult daughter. The tour was informative and fun. The group was interactive and friendly. The food was delicious and plentiful! I look forward to trying other tours that are offered.

This was a great 3 hour tour! My wife and I went with 2 other couples and had a great time. The food was good and the tour guide (Dani) made it even better. This is the second tour I've done and will be doing another. We loved it.

My husband and I had an incredible time! Melanie was awesome - so knowledgeable and really engaging (not to mention a great sense of humor!); the places we went to all had great stories and food and we felt warmly welcomed everywhere. We also couldn't have picked a better group!
It's clear that everyone we had contact with at Taste Indy Food Tours loves what they do and that translates to a wonderful experience.

Yesterday was just about perfect. Our guide, Melanie, was there waiting for us under the canopy. At the stroke of 3PM we headed into the Rathskeller for the first food stop – which was an individual plate with small samples of several German favorites, pretzel & mustard, 2 meats, cooked red cabbage, plus spätzle. Then a leisurely walk through Lockerbie Square, where the guide had arranged an abbreviated (first floor only) visit to the James Whitcomb Riley house – really fun to see the original 1800’s kitchen.
Then a brief walk to the Lockerbie Pub for a scaled-down version of their famous Hoosier tenderloin with all the trimmings (including breaded, deep-fried pickle discs) plus flights of 3 different craft beers or wine samples. An extra surprise was that Mayor Joe Hogsett had finished his lunch there and said hello to us on his way out.
Next stop was Rooster’s Kitchen on Mass Ave. – near the Bottle Works construction - never heard of this spot. Our reserved table was ready and the 8 of use were treated to a smaller version of their popular brisket sandwich on buttered & toasted sourdough bread, with a side dish of “charred carrots” – small strips of carrots brushed in olive oil and seared on the grill.
By now we were stuffed but enjoyed a final stop on Mass Ave. at The Best Chocolate in Town for various chocolate treats or choice of ice cream flavors.
Three of the seven were from Chicago, four of us from Indy. We all got along well especially after the flights of beer. Melanie is a local nurse and does this as a second job – and her many stories about the area were interesting. By the time we were done almost 3 hours had passed – with a fun group and great weather. Could not have been better!

we enjoyed the different locations and food. The portions were almost too large but very tasty. We tried everything offered and the drinks were good as well. The length of time was about right and the walk not too much

Fantastic way to spend an afternoon. Dani our tour guide was excellent. She was friendly courteous and informative. My wife and I had the best time enjoying Dani talk about the history of the area and the story behind the food and restaurant on the tour. I want to book additional tours with her at the fountain.

Enjoyed this tour with long time friends from High School when we visited Indy. Our guide was Martha and she did a great job. We really enjoyed the places we visited.

They are quick to respond. If they have any opening they will take late reservations. The tour starts early afternoon. Great activity to do with friends and family
