Such a great time, you gotta do this! We paid extra to get picked up from the Andaz Papagayo - a separate driver got us from the hotel and dropped us off at El Jardin restaurant to start our day and meetup with the group.
We saw two amazing waterfalls, countless creatures we've never encountered before, and had a fun time enjoying nature. Highly recommended

The waterfall is beautiful, about a mile hike each way. The hike is relatively easy with not much elevation gain, but there are alot of stairs to go down and then back up to get closer to the waterfall, not for people with knee issues. It is fun walking through the rainforest trying to look for creatures. We only saw two snakes, but that was exciting and entertained by 8 yr old daughter. With the vines, everything looks like a snake and it was awesome that my dtr and I spotted on on our own. It is a long drive, I only recommend doing the tour if you don't have a rental car. You could do the waterfall hike, and sloth sanctuary and restaurant/bufferfly garden on your own and it would be much cheaper. It took around 3 hours to get there. At the sloth sanctuary you will walk with another guide there. Make sure to tip him, he made sure we saw several sloths, frogs, and toucans. We saw both two and three toed sloths. He was a young local that lives nearby. You will cross the continental divide. Our guide was very knowledgeable about CR and it's history and been in the biz for 30 years.

Our guide Ivan was great! Waterfall views were amazing and highly recommend the sloth sanctuary. Danny was almost superhuman in his ability to locate sloths, birds and frogs for us!

Tour was exactly as described. Long day in a van but the waterfall, hike, lunch and jungle animal,sites were all great. Wish we had more time at the wildlife sanctuary.

Really fun day. Hector was a terrific guide. Only complain - the day was about 13 hours... Took a long time to drop everyone off. they drastically understated the time of the trip.

We had a great trip and Diego was so friendly and knowledgeable. The waterfalls were beautiful, breakfast and lunch were both so delicious, and the sloths/wildlife were the cherry on top!
There are a few stops in between the drive for snacks and shopping which helped break up the long drive.
Tips:
-Bring rain gear, specifically a good raincoat. The ponchos you can buy won’t help. The rainforest was living up to its name for us!
-bring a change of clothes, bathing suit and shoes or flip flops
-have bug spray and sunscreen
Note:
The second waterfall requires you to walk up and down about 250+ stairs, easy to moderate hike and so worth it, but something to think about if you are unable to climb.
Highly recommend this trip.

Great hikes and great Tour guide. Overall a very nice and interesting experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pointed snakes, birds, frogs and plants out along the way.

Had a great time, though it was a little rushed at the sloth tour. This is three separate hikes. The second one was rather difficult for me (57) and hubby didn't even try it, but he has asthma. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

We had a great time with our tour guide Hector. He was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
Be prepared because it is a long day with lots of riding in a bus, but a good way to see some of the surrounding area.

They seemed to list a lot of hotels for direct pick up. Not sure if this one was on there but perhaps you can check directly with them?
Hello, we’re interested in the Rio Celeste Hiking, Sloth Sanctuary & Llanos de Cortes Waterfall Tour. I wanted to ask what would be the closest pick up for us? We’re staying in Las Catalinas. Is Potrero one of the pick up spots? I see it listed when I go to book, but not under the description. Thank you!

Depending on which company you book with, you can email them and ask if they will pick you up from your location, of what is closest. It might be an extra cost. All the tours we took picked people up all along the coast From Tamarindo to Potrero and maybe further? I can't remember how far up the coast, but you can definitely ask the company you are booking with
